Looking for loose fitting thin 100% cotton dresses to wear overseas in extreme heat to give good skin coverage. This dress would be good except the colour is so unflattering. Sleeves can be shorter but must cover shoulders/neck and not be fitted style. Anyone seen anything similar?

OP when you say extreme heat, what temperature are we talking about? Also city or coast? I live in Greece and that dress has way too much fabric in to be comfortable in the extreme heat we get here but would be okay in the cooler shoulder seasons.

Thanks. I already have a dress similar to this, very full but very very thin cotton fabric and with full shoulder & neck cover but no sleeves and it has been fantastic in Asia in hottest months for both city and coast. Also wore it in Athens in August for sightseeing. This seemed similar other than sleeves. What style would you recommend? I want to be covered and nothing fitted on waist.

I had something not unlike that in thin cotton, more or less maxi on me, from M&S a couple of years ago. I noticed they did them last year as well, might be worth checking there.

Thank you for trying but I need high neck and lightweight cotton fabric/no lining especially not polyester and no elastic at waist/cuffs so it is cool to wear and not irritating. Thank you

@vaccinesabroad what size and do they need to be maxis?

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · 26/01/2026 20:15

Very hard to find high neck in this style though, could you wear them with a very lightweight cotton scarf draped round your neck?

I have a dress like that cotton green stripe , it’s from M&S - I will be selling it on Vinted but was waiting for summer, it’s an 18 if that’s any good ?

vaccinesabroad · 26/01/2026 20:22

18 will be too big thanks. I am 6 or 8 in most shops. A 10 might be Ok in this style too but no bigger.

Ideally maxi but I am not tall so as long as intended for below knee it might be OK. A scarf could be an option but I definitely dont want low cut.

The Roman style above is OK but looks like viscose despite their promoting it as cotton. Either way the seersucker type fabric wouldnt feel cool to wear. Thanks.

The pink Roman style could be OK but am looking for a thin soft fabric so no embroidery/cut work/lining which applies to the other Roman one too but thank you anyway.

I bought a couple of these - we were in Morrocco in 30 degrees and they were excellent - really thin jersey fabric and good coverage.

Thank you never seen aspiga before - there are lots of fabrics, prints and colours I absolutely love. Sadly not sure there is a design at a price I can justify just to wear on holiday! Thank you very much though.
Thanks for the Roman suggestions I just dont really like their fabrics/designs and most are lined or viscose mix.
@oohmamama that style could work too but those are viscose and I really want cotton but thank you

The Aspiga on vinted looks awful as I thought that could be an option
