Help finding a dress like this

Looking for loose fitting thin 100% cotton dresses to wear overseas in extreme heat to give good skin coverage. This dress would be good except the colour is so unflattering. Sleeves can be shorter but must cover shoulders/neck and not be fitted style. Anyone seen anything similar?

What colours suit you? And do you want short rather than long sleeves?

Would linen be an option rather than cotton? As I got a great black linen short-sleeved "kaftan" type of dress from M&S a couple of years ago.

This can be lightly pulled in at the waist, but isn't fitted. Which might work quite well as it will prevent you looking swamped? It starts at a size 6.

There are quite a few online shops that specialise in Indian block print cotton clothing. The dresses from both of these may look as if they're fitted at the waist - but most are actually pleated below the bust at the front & loose/unfitted at the back (sometimes with a tie). I have a couple of Pink City dresses & they're very cool & comfy. I bought them on eBay.

Have a look at modest clothing ranges - M & S and John Lewis do them. I worked in Israel a while back and had some “frum” clothes for when I was working with religious people. Seasalt and White Stuff also might have something that fits the bill, but 100% cotton, I think I would go for something in thin Indian cotton.

What you are looking for is a kaftan. I found one end of last summer next online but if you are not too tall (like I am) you will find lots on Etsy with that search term

I have a very similar one from H and M without the tie at the waist and I can confirm that it is incredibly light cotton. I wore it in peak heat in Asia. Every year they have similar styles though they often sell out online so you need to go into the shops.
