Need a dress URGENTLY

(Well actually that's a lie, I have a dress, I just don't like it anymore, and another dress, but I wore that to the same event last year)

Charity ball this Saturday night and need a black tie dress - will need to be urgent delivery given time frame. I'm 40, 5'1" so needs to be petite even though I'll be wearing heels, and a Size 6. I don't want anything with sleeves or a high neck (menopausal). Love a bit of sparkle and absolutely don't mind flashing a bit of flesh (especially boobs since they cost me a lot of money) but obviously want to still keep things classy.

Budget is absolutely as little as possible as I quite possibly may wear it once and stick it on Vinted.

Gosh they are fab. My local J&L only stocks boring bits of Ro&Zo.

I find Apricot dresses good value for money, not sure what they are like on a petite frame though. This one is in the sale for £25 and could work as a maxi for you. They used to be available in person at New Look, but not sure as honestly not checked recently.

how much do you remember about what others were wearing last you? It’s very likely that absolutely no one will remember what you wore last year.

wear last years frock and then keep a lookout for an upgrade in future. No rush.

I think I'll end up wearing the one I bought originally for this year, although it's not the most comfortable! I've realised I no longer have any shoes that go with the one from last year but I've had a look at a few websites and just can't find anything I like that isn't ££££

Buy it off vinted, im looking on there at the minute for formal dresses and there are some beautiful ones worn maybe once, if that. Im sure if you asked the seller they could send it straightaway

@roslyn80 Until they can add a filter to weed out what's actually petite and sort out their ridiculous sizing criteria (in some stores I'd be an 8 so that means I have to sift through all sizes from a 4-10) I won't be buying anything from there!

Debenhams have next day delivery and you can filter for Petite and also look at the price from low to high - lots and lots of choice and I can see dresses checking all your criteria. :) Have fun!

This might sound ridiculous, but Tesco have some absolutely stunning evening dresses ans jackets in their sale. They are like £15 now and look like you've paid £££'s.
I especially like the crean almost boucle dress , a bit 60's inspired. The photo dont do them justice.

This isn't my favourite but there are other styles. I think a cocktail dress would suit you better than a long gown as you are very petite
