Size 14 wide leg jeans that don’t make me look like a clown? 🤡

I’m early 40s, relatively new mum, and really want to get into the wider leg jeans trend. I’m a size 14 and carry a lot of weight on my bum and thighs. So my current Levi ‘straight leg’ jeans actually look more skintight than they do on the model.

I tried some wide leg jeans on yesterday and honestly looked like I’d escaped from the circus. I looked, frankly, ridiculous.

Where can I go to get age- and shape-appropriate jeans?

One final thing, a high rise is a must. Cannot be mid or low rise.

I wear converse with them in the warmer months and uggs when it’s cold

Try barrel leg/carrot leg. x

Low profile trainers are the in ones apparently at the minute- but I still love my gazelles x

My daughter swears by Hollister jeans, flattering on the bum etc.

I have flared high rise from Tesco. Took a while to get used to them, I'm a 16 and ample of thigh but I do have long legs (32" inside leg). These fit nicely, far better than any of the M&S offerings. I find the flares look better than the straight up and down wide legs which make me look chunky. They are nice quality for the price too and hold their shape.

I can't stand the excessively wide leg look in any form of trousers, especially jeans. I've yet to see someone who actually suits them. As for barrel leg, I won't start 😂

Good to see flares out in force again!

I'm 57 and my love for flares has never waned, the new style are higher waisted, which has taken some getting used to. And I've managed to syphon up half of the local rainfall with them.

Thanks, if the newer ones are higher waisted then I may need to investigate. I'm wearing Gap Long n' Leans and some Levi's (can't remember which number) from the 90s and they're both on the cusp of being too low waisted for comfort. I don't wear them at this time of year though!

Sainsbury's Tu ones are fab - they do all shapes but I love the high waisted, ultra wide leg ones or high waisted Palazzo. It's a good price if you're trying a new style too. They are sometimes a bit broad on sizing (12 too tight but 14 too loose on waist), but you can get those little button cinching waist things to fix that.

I recommend Adidas Japan trainers; slightly lower profile than the Spezials and super comfy

I’m 5ft size 12-14 have a tummy and bum and I’ve been looking for a wide leg jean that look nice on my size . I found the perfect ones on asos not to wide and they do diffrent lengths . I only normaly wear high wasted but these are low and they fit fine and hide the belly nice . They look really nice with a pair of adidas trainers . I have them in black also .
