I'm looking for a swimsuit for a special Asia holiday later this year.

I'm not in terrible shape but I am 50+ and am definitely experiencing a gradual move southwards. My top half looks good but there's a mid-section volume and wobble that wasn't there before.

I'm a tall 14/16 and have a long body and FF boobs so find one piece swimsuits really hard. I'm willing to pay more this time than I usually would (£150) for something good.

Any suggestions for brands I might not have heard of?

Not a creative answer but I got a fantastic swimsuit from bravissimo last year.

WandaW · 13/01/2026 12:27

I had a good experience with a Panache swimsuit - felt secure and good support to lift boobs away from jelly belly

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 13/01/2026 12:34

I was on a very similar quest - similar age and similar problem areas. I got a tankini from Lands End. The top is halter neck, with light padding on the cups (no chance of nipples showing) then the stomach area has a kind of rippled fabric layer which is quite forgiving. The bottoms are like knickers under shorts, the knicker layer is tight and stays in place when swimming, the shorts add additional coverage (also handy in modest Asian countries, although the whole thing is far less modest than what the locals would wear). Plus you don't have to pay much attention to your bikini line 😉

You need a Heidi Klein swimsuit. Absolutely MIRACULOUS. I am not sure how she makes so little fabric do such major scaffolding work for the whole body, but, after years of wearing a cover-it-all-up tankini, I am back in her bikinis. heidiklein.com

I have spent hundreds and hundreds on that elusive swimsuit - I’m same height, G boobs and a 12/14 so pretty similar to you. Bought this for a cruise last year and it’s brilliant. I’ve never had one that shape as I always thought my boobs were too big but have worn it again at Centre Parcs last weekend and I actually like the photos!

Queenage · 13/01/2026 12:46

I bloody did add a link - anyway search next brown animal swimsuit and it will come up.

I'm thinking of buying this from Next - Brown Animal High Neck Tummy Control Shaping Swimsuit

RedAndGreenShouldAlwaysBeSeen · 13/01/2026 16:27

I was going to suggest Next too. They do longer length swimsuits and, specifically, the shaping plunge style is so flattering! The scoop back looks amazing, nothing cuts in. And although it doesn't necessarily look it on the pictures, the plunge top section is roomy and supportive enough (am GG).

I have a Lands End swimsuit and I don't love it. Might try a tankini thought thanks

These look AMAZING thanks @Ruthietuthie . How is the sizing?

OP posts:
Ruthietuthie · 13/01/2026 20:57

@GatherlyGal, I find they run a little small, so size up a size.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 14/01/2026 05:57

Land’s End swimwear is never going to be cutting edge fashion, but it comes in so many variants of long body/bust size/tummy control that it is well worth a look.

I’ve been searching for a swimsuit for my rapidly upcoming holiday and it’s like trying to find the holy grail! I’ve plumped for the Miami swimsuit from Bravissimo. Should be arriving any day now. It’s the support for boobs I find most difficult - I’m short and have FF/G cups. Keeping fingers crossed this will tick the box.

I’ve seen swimsuits recommended on MN before from Summersalt. They are US based and I’ve admired a lot of their swimwear from afar, I just leave it to late to order anything in time for a holiday!

There was another swimwear post recently which may help you but possibly looking for something different to what you're after - big bikini bottoms I think! Lots of suggestions on there of websites to check out e.g Pourmoi and Panache if you can find it.

Davy Jones do beautiful swimsuits with very firm-hold fabric. https://davyj.com/collections/one-pieces/products/statement-cut-out-swimsuit-red ?

I like that @Aknifewith16blades but the bosoms need upward lift and that looks more like downward drag.

Their bikinis are fab but I've not exposed the midsection since the 90s and it has not improved in that time.

Yes thanks some good ideas on there. @WandaW suggested Panache too.

Miami Swimsuit

Is that supportive though @mrschocolatte ? It just looks too stretchy.

I was amazed by a miraclesuit I tried on (sadly out of my price range), I thought it would just be hype but it did make me look a lot slimmer! Some are really frumpy, but there are some good styles too.

Yes I had one of these years ago when living in US as they were cheaper there. Bloody nightmare to get on and off but certainly slimming. Worth a look.

I’m tall but with small boobs so can’t help with your top half but I’ve given up on one pieces because of my height. Definitely look into tankinis and go for bigger pants to cover your stomach

I’ll let you know when it arrives. I’m a little worried to be honest but I live in hope this will be the one!
