Best budget hand cream

Currently use L’Occitane Shea Butter, which I love. I cannot justify the price anymore, it’s £20 plus depending on offers at the time.

Any really good budget hand reams for £10 and under? Not been a fan of O’Keefes.

Don’t want highly fragranced or sticky.

Atrixo, in the green tub, is my go to.

Also Body shop Hemp hand protector.

Secondishspring · 05/01/2026 09:00

Lidl has a dupe of the occitane one

Aveeno hand cream

CrikeyNumpty · 05/01/2026 09:02

Body Shop is a good one. Used to use before L’Occitane, stopped using because of the smell. It is quite pricey too I think.

I like Neutrogena although I'm not sure whether you'd find it sticky. They do an unperfumed one. I agree green tub Atrixo is also good.

Toasted Crumpet hand cream is the best I have ever used. I get very dry and cracked hands due to ocd with frequent hand washing.
Have tried every hand cream known to human kind but found Toasted Crumpet by sheer chance.
A variety of lovely scents but not overpowering.
Their soap is equally lovely.

I have the Lidl dupe, it's really good. Not a dead ringer like some of the dupes but I do like it and will buy it again.

SheilaFentiman · 05/01/2026 09:31

I use this, it isn't sticky and is usually in some kind of offer at Boots.

Aveeno. I use lovely smelling hand cream when my hands are generally ok, but nothing beats Aveeno when they’re bad! It’s not expensive. It’s also unscented, which I don’t mind, but I do decant some into a small pot and add a drop of essential oil if I want a scented version.

CrikeyNumpty · 05/01/2026 09:43

Is the Aveeno one the Skin Relief or Daily Moisturising one?

The Lidli dupe is good, also Palmers shea butter one...

Teaforthetotal · 05/01/2026 09:46

The L'Occitane one is wonderful for my nails but so expensive. Recently bought the Palmers coconut hand cream and this is good. Rich but easily absorbed. The active ingredients are relatively natural so some helpful oils in there.

Fozzleyplum · 05/01/2026 09:47

Another vote for the Lidl L' Occitane dupe.

Coffeeishot · 05/01/2026 09:51

Honestly O'keefes working hands is great.

Is the Aveeno one the Skin Relief or Daily Moisturising one?

I use the daily moisturising one. I had to go to the GP as my hands were permanently itch, and red raw. She recommended it and I was v sceptical (I was really expecting to be prescribed something) but she recommended it and my hands felt better almost instantly. It’s my go to hand cream and I carry it with me at all times!!

luckylavender · 05/01/2026 10:51

The Soap & Glory one is good

CrikeyNumpty · 05/01/2026 10:57

Soap and Glory is too fragranced but their foot cream is lovely, a different fragrance and very effective.

I am going to look out for the Aveeno. I don’t have a Lidl near me but if I passed one I would see if I could pick up the dupe.

I always stock up on Kamill (the green one) when I see it but hard to find now. It's from Germany but they used to have it in home bargains - only €1/£1 and it's moisturising and absorbs quickly.

OverlyFragrant · 05/01/2026 11:09

Nursem.

Cakeandslippers · 05/01/2026 11:23

I'm hand cream obsessed! I used to swear by the body shop Hemp one but they've changed the recipe and it's not as good.

The best one I've found (and I now LOVE it) is the O'Keefes Working hands overnight cream - but I don't just use it overnight. The normal one is also quite good but I prefer the overnight one.

Cakeandslippers · 05/01/2026 11:24

sorry just read you don't like O'Keefes!!

Teenmam · 05/01/2026 11:31

Boots own brand vitamin c hand and nail cream. I read about it then couldn't believe how good it is! My nails have never been stronger or longer. And so cheap!
