mine are:
the beauty crop oui cherie primer
kylie cosmetics power plush foundation
elf camo concealer
jones road miracle balm (i know it's controversial but i really do love it and want more shades) and cool gloss
iconic london prep set glow spray
vo5 hot oil
witch hazel as a toner
give me cosmetics hair care sets (especially the hair repair cream, it genuinely saved my hair and my hairdresser actually uses them in the salon because they're so moisturising, big set for £25)

Things like this are age and ethnicity based. Perhaps narrow down who you are asking.

TheToteBagLady · 05/01/2026 09:40

Estée Lauder double wear foundation
Mac Mehr lipstick
Cream blushes (from advent calendars)
Charlotte Tilbury creamy eyeshadow pots

EveryKneeShallBow · 05/01/2026 09:46

Controversial, but I actually really like the Trinny London stuff. It’s really easy to use and fits in a tiny purse to carry around.

LeftoversAgain · 05/01/2026 10:25

Dark skinned here:

Pat Mcgrath eyeshadow palette
Lisa Eldridge lipsticks
Caudielle Vinoperfect
Dior Pump n Volume mascara

Why is this controversial? I also love trinny make up - the few bits I've used so far and the foundation has been a cornerstone of my make up routine for a few years now.

The skin care I have mixed feelings on so far and it's very expensive, but there are things I do like a lot.

My Farmacy Green Clean face balm cleanser is my favourite, even with the slight change in the formula which has been a bit disappointing.

My most expensive (gram for gram) make up product is my mini Westman Atelier blush stick but I LOVE IT. So gorgeous and seamless.

Trinny foundation as above - Love it.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/01/2026 13:25

Armani luminous silk foundation.
Urban decay waterproof setting powder.
Elf khol eyeliner

AmpleSwan · 05/01/2026 13:30

I am honestly so so impressed by Catrice having tried it for the first time this year. I am now using their foundation, undereye colour corrector and liquid contour all of which have replaced a high end items and only cost a few quid!

giveyourselfapresent · 05/01/2026 14:07

I looooove the creamy stick blusher from Westman Atelier. I've got a few and they all look brilliant and natural. I had a sample sheet of their concealer too, and it was fab so I'll be buying that at some point.

My other repeat buys are Jones Rd WTF foundation and Vic Beckham eyeliner. Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown for loose and pressed powder.

Can i ask which ones you've tried and liked? I've seen the stands in primark and am keen to give them a go. Thanks x

I genuinely wouldn't bother putting make up on if I didn't have the Milk hydro grip primer. I tried the beauty crop and found it did nothing and made my make up patchy so I'm never straying from Milk ever again lol. Don't think their other products are worth the price though

It’s not so much the make up as its founder is generally not popular on MN.

GameOfJones · 05/01/2026 15:04

My repeat buys are:

L'Oréal Revitalift SPF 50. The perfect combination of rich enough to go straight over serum so I don't need a separate day cream but it doesn't leave me greasy or affect my make-up application.

Clarins beauty flash balm (used as a primer or on no make-up days I just put it on top of my skincare.) It seems to be a love/hate thing but I really like it.

Erborian CC cream. The best lightweight base I have ever used and I have bought a lot.

Givenchy Prisme Libre pressed powder. Expensive but I love it to set my make-up.

Elf Xtender tubing mascara and camo blush (you only need a tiny amount of the liquid blush as it's really pigmented but it lasts all day, it will likely last me forever as I use the smallest dot on each cheek and costs about £7.

Rituals shower foam. I don't mind the Sanctuary or Imperial Leather ones but I go back to Rituals because I prefer the scents.

Fenty Butta body lotion is hands down the best body lotion I've ever used.

Rimmel scandeleyes eyeliner pens. Cheap and last better on my oily, hooded eyelids than any expensive eyeliners I've tried.

lechatnoir · 05/01/2026 15:45

Another vote for Armani silk foundation plus Rituals bath & shower products

New & returning favourites I'm keeping this year:

Biossance Squalane and Vitamin C Rose Oil - heavenly scent and my skin looks great which I'm crediting to using this every night. Not cheap and lucked out on Vinted so might be able to get some on there.

ELF poreless Primer - not one for everyday but brilliant when I want to use foundation.

Iconic London Prep Set Glow Spray. Love this although use sparingly as it can feel a bit tacky until it dries. I sometimes just use this when I can't be arsed to put any makeup on and it instantly lifts a dull complexion

The Ordinary: Azelaic Acid & Hyaluronic Acid 2% . I've tried others but always go back to these - keep my skin clear & bright, smooth and blemish free.

I'm giving up on my lash + brow serum - been using religiously for months and not noticed any difference at all.
Still on the hunt for:

The holy grail of SPF daily moisturiser that feels amazing (like a big drink for the skin), smells nice and won't bankrupt me if I want to slather it on every morning.

Decent eyelash curlers

The ability to use fake lashes! Just cannot seem to get them on even the clusters allude me.

lechatnoir · 05/01/2026 16:08

I'm going to try L'Oréal Revitalift SPF 50 @GameOfJones this sounds just what I'm after.

dogsarebetterthanppl · 05/01/2026 17:12

hello i've enjoyed reading all your favourites, i fell asleep after posting and haven't sat down all day. another honourable mention, i got a plouise obsessed for less skincare set (face wash, cleansing balm and moisturiser) as a present but i was pleasantly surprised, especially with the moisturiser, i think i'll repurchase. i know it's seen as a kiddie brand but i think it's better than the reputation it gets, i also had my makeup done as a model for a friend who was doing a college course to retrain and she used the book palette with the eyeshadows, blush, bronzer and highlighter and it was really good and convenient although i think the eyeshadow shade range could be better. i always wanted to try luminous silk but i could never afford it, then by the time i could i had started to only use cruelty free makeup. really enjoying this thread😁 ps i'm not looking for a certain demographic, just interested.

The undereye cream brightener in a round pot and matching powder, the True Skin hydrating foundation and the Melted Sun liquid bronzer (although they have shades cool-toned and light enough for my translucent, celtic self to contour with).

I will say it doesn't smell particularly nice if that's important to you! But I love it nonetheless.

Sweetiedarling7 · 06/01/2026 08:28

I have just bought Trinny London cream eyeshadows and love them. Awaiting more Trinny goodies.
Also a fan of Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow and Dior Lip Addict Glow.
Skincare wise I love Nivea Cellular Serum, Cerave cleansing balm and foaming face wash.

namechange0998776554799000 · 06/01/2026 09:22

I found Trinny skincare made me break out - except the Elevator, which I love. Haven't tried any makeup yet but probably will at some point

user593 · 06/01/2026 09:28

Loads, but current favourites are:

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads
Claudalie Vinoperfect Dark Spot Serum
Zelens 3T Anti Aging Cream
Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask

Lisa Eldridge Skin Enhancing Tint
Surratt Auto Graphique Liner
Merit Flush Balm
Violette FR Bisou Balm
Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlighter

I also like Chanel and Merit lipsticks.

Catrice have a sister company @AmpleSwancalled Essence.

noramoo · 06/01/2026 10:02

I am 30 with fair, normal to combo skin for reference.

I swear by the bobbi brown face base moisturiser, it's ££ but nothing else compares for me.
rhode pocket blush is 100% worth the hype, shade toasted teddy especially
missha bb cream for day to day or estee lauder double wear for work/need more coverage
vieve concealer is excellent
makeup by mario eyeshadow palette is literally the only one I use now

Aworldofmyown · 06/01/2026 20:12

Emma Hardie cleansing balm.
Erborian BB cream (their cc dull correct is also incredible but unfortunately for me I discovered after purchase it contains Salicylic acid)
Victoria Beckham eyeliner is amazing, this led me to buy VB mascara and eyeshadow, also very impressive.
Rare beauty eyebrow gel.
Lumene skincare.

I have mature, very sensitive and pale skin.
