Best ever boots !

I have just noticed these boots on sale .

I have these , they were closer to £200 when I purchased them. I got them about 5 years ago .

They still look brand new. They are a staple. I wear them most days in autumn / winter as they go with everything - skirts , dresses, skinny jeans , trousers . They are quite high, but they’re comfy. I am quite heavy footed and notice that a lot of heels I wear do then to wear easily , but these haven’t. They honestly do not have a single mark on them.

I just thought I would share. I never spend that much on shoes for myself and I remember getting them and justifying to myself that I would wear them all the time but knowing deep down it was just because they were beautiful and I got them on Klarna because I couldn’t bring myself to shell out £200 at once! But , they ended up being one of the best purchases I’ve ever made !

They are basic.

FestiveFruitloop · 01/01/2026 14:15

Interesting that the style is so polarising! I love them but probably just as well they seem to be sold out in my size, I probably wouldn’t get much wear out of them now I wear heels so much less. Ugh, I hate being practical.

HessianSack · 01/01/2026 18:11

I can’t think of a single time I would wear boots like that - sorry!

Cando6 · 01/01/2026 19:39

Lord they’re high. I might wear them if I was going between a car and a bar. Otherwise will stick to my chunky flats.

They would kill me. The instep is so high. They are lovely though

I can't even imagine walking a step in those!! flat boots only! Duo boots are my fave. So comfortable and also nice to look at....

Wendywooooo · 02/01/2026 09:38

Lovely boots but no way my legs will fit in them! :-(

Me either. For daily/casual use they are far too high...and for dressy up, far too heavy.

One might wear them to supper in someone's draughty country pile I suppose...but when else?

I think I might have got a ton of wear out of them in my late teens/early 20s when I lived in heels (at one time I had a p/t job I wore heels to, 4 hours per shift running around in the things, which is unfathomable to me now in middle age) but sadly those days are gone, though I do occasionally still wear heels.

Calliopespa · 02/01/2026 22:26

They are lovely op.

When they start to stack beneath the ball of the foot, I know they are too high for me, but I think they are very nice. I don't think the style is one to have dated much; you can just change about what you wear with them.

christmassytimeagain · 02/01/2026 23:17

You couldn’t pay me to wear them. They’re way too high and very dated

GarlicSound · 02/01/2026 23:27

UnemployedNotRetired · 31/12/2025 22:02

Oh, don't!! I don't need any more boots. I so rarely wear heels that high any more, I have to practise doing stairs in them. There are many more urgent calls on this month's £100 frittering money ...

They are elegant, and it's lovely to hear they've done you so well, OP.

My most expensive shoes are a pair of Russell & Bromley ankle boots with a similar heel. They cost £200 in the 1990s and I berated myself for months about spending that much. But ... just as you've said, they are STILL in near-perfect condition, despite much wearing through my heel-happy years.

Oh, thank god, they've sold out 😂

hidinginthebathroomagain · 03/01/2026 12:53

ad this thread took me yo HOF website. I looked at the other boots in the sale. Found a pair I liked but I’m hate paying delivery charges so found them else where and ended up buying 3 pairs of boots. So thanks for that OP 😂😂😂

AngryBird6122 · 03/01/2026 15:12

I think they are hideous

I have several pairs of knee length boots and I love heels but sorry op those are hideous.

They’re dated though, it’s 2026 not 2010.

No, nor the Charge of the Light Brigade 1854.

Gettingbysomehow · 03/01/2026 18:28

I wouldn't be able to walk a single step in those without falling over. I love high heels but my bunion says no.

Spink86 · 04/01/2026 09:16

O I have these in brown! I got them in the dune black friday sale in 2024 and I love them. I live in them for work!

Okay. Heels went “out” during the pandemic, when everyone and their dogs wore white trainers and floral dresses because they had no-where to go and just getting out of pyjamas was “dressing up.” That started six years ago!

The idea that heels will never come back within the decade is a little wishful.

It’s not that they’re heels that is dated - there are many pairs of gorgeous heels out there that feel very “current” if that is what you are after.

These are a classic of the skinny jean and chunky knit genre. Would pair nice with a MK tote and infinity scarf. Sorry.

Interesting because I had noted to myself that hardly anyone wears heels any more (I've never been a fan) but I hadn't made the connection to the pandemic.

Did the pandemic kill heels forever or will they make a comeback?

I've only ever entertained a block heel or a wedge in my time. Heels are so uncomfortable and impractical. Would we miss them? I don't.
