A scent that smells like fresh soap...

On a flight to Greece from Manchester a few months ago, (I think Jet2...) there was an air hostess who smelled amazing. Hopefully someone knows who she is/what it is or someone else smelled her and asked what it was and can now tell me 😁

Everytime she walked past, the scent would trail behind her and linger for a little while. It was quite strong. I couldn't pick out any particular notes, just that it smelled like a clean, fresh, soap smell. Not musky, not florally, but maybe it was, there was just nothing I noticed but... soap! I was just googling to see if I could find a description and something had the description of 'white soap'. That's the only way I can visualise it!
I wish I had asked her at the time but thought it might come across abit weird... Feels weird enough to be writing about her so maybe I should have just bit the bullet and asked directly!

Imagine you've just had a luxurious, creamy, soapy shower. Then got wrapped up in a cosy, soft, fluffy towel. It had that kind of comforting scent. Maybe was her perfume, maybe was her clothes detergent, definitely wasn't just soap as in she'd just washed her hands 👀 was far too strong to have been that. Anyway, does anyone have any idea what it might have been? 🙏

I can imagine the scent and feel I have smelled it and know what perfume you mean. But can’t remember what so am placemarking out of curiosity

Is it Dove classic. That smells like soap?

I've grown up with my mum always using Dove soap/antiperspirant, so I'd have recognised it straight away if it was that. Thanks though. This one was more of a, I don't know how to describe it, like a more... Rounded/full(?!) scent. I've never smelled anything like it before.
With a perfume, you can smell different layers and notes to it, with this, it was as if it was just one layer/scent. It didn't change at all as it mellowed out. The feeling of using Dove would be a close description of it, the comforting, clean side of it, but without the signature Dove scent. I feel like a crackpot trying to describe it so forgive my rambling 😅 I'm trying my best 😁

I would love a perfume that smells like that, and also of Palmolive.

Although I used to wash my hair in soap sometimes, camay or palmolive and my hair would smell quite strongly of soap the rest of the day, gorgeous it was.

I was going to say dove but also get what you mean by clean smell. And I too crave it !!

Dove soap deodorant but I also use Narciso Rodriguez for her - it smells like you’ve just got out of the shower, used it since I was 17 (now 37!). It’s expensive but there are some good dupes x

I feel like I had something like this from Estée Lauder - maybe Pure Linen, maybe Pleasures?

A friend of mine wears Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and ‘fresh soap’ was always what sprung to mind!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply! Really appreciate it. I'm going to write everything down and see how many I can find to have a sniff! There's not much around locally for me so it'll have to wait until I'm next going to the nearest city. I've been googling some of the suggestions and I think the key word I need to be looking for in the scent description is 'aldehyde'. I can't remember if Jo Malone was being promoted on my flight but I'll have a look at some scent notes within that range too, worth a try! thank you.

My DDIL gave me a bottle. It smell so fresh and clean and is really long lasting without being overpowering and headache inducing.

I always think Baie 19 by Le Labo smells like”fresh out of the shower” on me.

White linen by Estée Lauder, lovely clean, slightly earthy, warm scent. It really does smell of how my mums linen cupboard smelt! Not too floral, just a slight hint of lavender and greentea, slight woody note of frankincense (real frankincense which is fiendishly expensive not the shite in incense sticks!) and bergamot.

Just as an aside perfumes smell different on different people. Dd and I wear the same scent (not intentionally, she’s constantly pinching my perfume!) but it smells different on each of us.

I need to know what this smell was. I feel like it needs a campaign ! Share the flight and see if we can track her down ?!
