So the number correlates to the amount of retinal used. 1 is for sensitive skin, 3 for beginners and 6 is for regular users. I would be very careful with it if you have reacted to it before. Maybe buy the 1 or 3 beginner level and build it up?

Im using the ret 1 atm twice a week. I like it but my skin feels dryer the day after but overall looks better. I only use twice a week and dont think my skin would cope with more. For ref I have rosacea but no active. ♥️

Really pleased with today’s offering. I’be tried hard not to read too much about this calendar so that each day is a surprise

I also have rosacea, but it's vitamin c that I'm more sensitive to. I use a retinal serum two or three times a week, then bioeffect egf serum on the other nights.

Tried the La Prairie cleanser out this evening. So far I like it. @JoRaRaRa is right, you don't need much. I think I did use too much and it went on like a face mask at first. I like the scent, it didn't feel drying and my skin felt very soft afterwards. Didn't put it near my eyes.

A bit of a relief given I have a few of them to go at!

I did the same when I first tried it 🤣 I reminded myself of Mrs doubtfire when she puts her face in the cream cake 🤣

OvaHere · 03/12/2025 23:15

@JoRaRaRa that's exactly how it looked. 😂

LightandBreezy · 04/12/2025 08:08

That's good news about the cleanser, glad you like it @OvaHere I'm hoping it'll be a bit like the Omorovizca one which you also only need a tiny amount for.

I wasn't impressed with today's offerings after receiving the same product in last year's AC, so I changed mine 🤣 so no photo from me today ✌️

pinkchampagne1 · 04/12/2025 08:10

Not too excited by today’s either. I might pass them on to someone

Yes they are quite similar I would say. I think I maybe like LP slightly more. Not totally sure as I've only used it the once.

Day 4! We have a full size Rodial blush drops and a mini Rodial bronze glowlighter. I thought the blush drops looked a bit too pigmented for me but actually they are very, very subtle when applied and I like the shade. I doubt I'll use the glowlighter for its intended purpose but I will have a play around with it later and see if it would work as a subtle wash of colour on eyelids. Happy to have some make up today and looking forward to trying them out properly.

@LightandBreezy oh I like that idea of putting the glow lighter on the eyelids 😍

LightandBreezy · 04/12/2025 08:28

@JoRaRaRa I had Space NK last year so haven't had these before. Are they supposed to have skincare in them as well like the glow recipe ones? My only niggle with the blush drops is whenever I get anything fairly viscous in a glass bottle with a pipette, I just end up wasting half the bottle as it's impossible to get out. Hopefully that won't be the case with these.

These two will be getting passed on for me. I didn't love seeing these in the BAC as they're 2 products that have done the rounds of beauty boxes and advents for a couple of years. Nothing wrong with them but I already have both in a drawer and tbh I don't love products in dropper bottles.

I do feel like Harrods could have gone with a more high end feeling blush product, something like the Chantecaille cheek gelee or similar. That's just me being fussy though.

I feel like it should've been a completely different blush to last year's so I wasn't happy with it either, hence why I've changed it to something I've not tried before. They have a great range of brands and products, so they could've gone with a different product this year.

JoRaRaRa · 04/12/2025 09:04

Ps it would've been amazing to see the Chantecaille cheek gelee in there. Please send the recommendation to them and hopefully it'll be included next year 🤞

One of the things Bioeffect is amazing for is repairing the skin barrier and helping the skin heal, all without any harsh actives. It’s so calming, gentle and non irritating, and it’s absolutely perfect in winter. I honestly can’t imagine life without it now 🤣
I also love Decree’s Treat Tincture because that’s another miracle in a bottle. I received both in the Harrods 2023 advent calendar and have rebought both quite a few times since, even though I said at the time that I wouldn't rebuy them 🤣

The 2024 calendar had these in a peach colour. I have found them very easy to use and a much lighter colour than you think. I am looking forward to trying the pink.

I must have swapped this drawer which I’d completely forgotten about 🤔

Oh ill lookout for this thanks.

That's good to know as im thinking of getting my eyebrows tattooed in the named year but have to stop actives, retinal, etc a few weeks before and after, or thereabouts. Its asking me consider not having them done as my skin is looking better but good to know this would probably be ok to use and still give results.
Im going for a consultation on Tues so will check. 🥰

I've just started using the Bioeffect serum in the AM. It's not going to last long though. At the rate it's going down I'll be lucky to get 3 weeks from the bottle. I have another 2 I've accumulated from edits but it doesn't seem affordable as a regular purchase.

Maybe I'm using too much? Do you think you could add a drop to a moisturiser or other serum and get the same benefits?

Doglover73 · 04/12/2025 10:57

Oh good question. Im over generous as well as I think it'll give better results with things. Usually doesn't. 🤣
I have a few back ups but wouldn't want to pay full price for such a small size.
Interested to hear if anyone has any tips. 🥰

You only need 2 or 3 drops. I was using a full pipette of it when I first started, but you only need a small amount. A 15ml bottle now lasts me approx 2 months. I wish I'd bought another supreme skin edit from CB on BF. I only have 1 more in my stash. I tend to use it at night, but I sometimes suffer with hormonal acne and if I have a really bad breakout (like this month), I use it on a morning too as its so calming.

I've been way overusing it then. I shall adjust as I've been alarmed at how quickly I'm going through it. I think I'll try adding a couple of drops to to my serum so it spreads further.
