Love this one. I'm not sure why but I seem to go through eye creams rapidly so I'm always pleased to have another. I actually bought the John Lewis calendar this year too as all the unboxings I saw criticised it for being heavy on eye creams and lip products, both of which I love. Safe to say I think I shall be supplied now for the entirety of 2026 😂

MiaN · 18/12/2025 07:28

Second full size eye cream I think. I am particularly interested in the metal applicator, I feel it will be very relaxing/cooling to use it. Not fan of the brand in general but very happy to change my mind - I will give it a chance.

Really love their hand creams, I find they’re the least greasy ones and I love the scents

WeAreBorg · 18/12/2025 07:47

This gets good reviews and is pretty pricey! Im not convinced that anything can save my eye bags but we shall try it

Talisin · 18/12/2025 07:50

Always happy to see an eyecream although I’ve never found anything from the brand to be memorable. Maybe this’ll be the product that bucks the trend and becomes my new favourite (RiP Ren).

MiaN · 18/12/2025 07:59

Slightly off-topic, but I just did a declutter of my makeup collection. I realized I had way too many items from past advent calendars—mostly lip products in shades that don't suit me, an endless supply of balms, and those shimmery eyeshadows and black liners I will never get to. I also cleared out a lot of Redial blushes, highlighters etc. While I love the chance to try everything, the waste is starting to weigh on me, so I'm slimming down to just what I actually use. But it is how it is when you buy advent calendars - if you try and you don't have younger females to pass things on they are going to be wasted.

Rare eye pencil does not budge but is way too shimmery for me, I have nicer eye shadows with similar shade so it's redundant for me. I have Westman Atelier highlighter (from last year's space NK), realistically I won't be using the Charlotte Tilbury one from this year.

I am loving the space NK advent, I will continue buying it but some waste in inevitable for me.

TheToteBagLady · 18/12/2025 08:05

@MiaN Me too, but I do watch the unboxing videos, and carefully read the contents before making a decision

BabyPigeon83 · 18/12/2025 08:05

Another eye cream! I guess I can't never have too many. 😅 This looks like a morning one as well. I like the brand but I haven't used it in a while. What I would like is a lip mask, I guess I'll have buy one once I use it up.

MiaN · 18/12/2025 08:08

Me too, and this is by far the one that suited me best - very happy with it. Even if buying something myself there is risk that I won't like some items. It just feels good to try, decide and declutter quick as I don't want to have too many items I won't get use of.

Skincare & hair care was what most appealed in this advent

I got the laneige lip mask a while ago but I much prefer the fenty plush pudding

There is a group on Facebook that you can sell swatched make up items on 😍

The applicator on the eye cream looks good. Cant wait to try!

SocksAndTheCity · 18/12/2025 16:06

The first time I ever used eye cream was when we got the Ole Henrikssen one the other day and I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to do, but I like the metal thing and I'll give this a try when that runs out 😀

I've never been that excited about this brand either, and I'm not really sure why - I know it's premium and the products are really good. I wonder whether it's because the packaging is so dull?

If you don't have dry skin, the skin around the eyes may get dryer than the rest of the face and needs a different formula. That's where eye cream comes in. Otherwise, using the same face moisturizer around the eyes is fine, if it doesn't have strong actives.
Caudalie is one of those old French "natural" brands like L'occitane, it's been around for a bit and could use some innovation and rebranding.
I like the applicator but I think it would work better with a gel formula with more slip.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 18/12/2025 16:30

The one thing I would have really liked in the AC would have been an SPF, then we’d have had a whole skin care regime.

I was thinking exactly the same (also because I’ve nearly run out of my usual SPF!).

MiaN · 18/12/2025 20:37

Since the Ultra Violet spf50 testing only spf4 in the summer, and the last year Korean SPF issues I am sticking to European brands, and buy them from pharmacy tbh. I feel this may have influenced thier choice but to include one this year as they frequently included Ultra Violet products in the past

I thought something was wrong with those tests because people would have been burned before when using the sunscreen. It seems they decanted the sunscreen for the test and it's not.meant to be decanted. That should have been more clear on the packaging in case people do decant them. Usually those mineral sunscreens have an instruction to shake before applying.

I think there were two sunscreens in last years calendar now you mention it x

bigdecisionstomake · 19/12/2025 07:11

Gosh I hadn't seen that about the Ultra Violette sunscreen. I use the Supreme Screen one from that brand and it does look like it was one of the others that failed but even so it's concerning.

Love today's product, although it is kind of a repeat but a different shade and formulation so will definitely be used here.

Housewife2010 · 19/12/2025 07:32

Today's looks lovely. I love lip products and haven't tried this one. It looks like it has more pigment than the Gisou.

The one that failed is a mineral sunscreen which is known for being hard to formulate. It's tricky to make the formulation stable but also nice to wear. The one you're using has chemical filters which don't have that issue.

Same, and I’ve heard the brand is good

mynameiscalypso · 19/12/2025 08:16

I really like the other lip oil we received so I’m pleased with this one too. A good daytime shade. I will be wearing it for the school run shortly!
