General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

A good door day for me today;

Tiny Tatcha moisturiser in my DIY calendar and a sample size perfume and DH had popped in a pair of earrings, which was a nice surprise.

Meanwhile, DDog went wild with excitement over his carrot shaped treat today!

I'm assuming ddog snaffled the treat between you putting it beside the other items and taking the photo.

Day 14 Bare Mineral Gen Nude Highlighting Blush - opal. Happy to try this one, see if better that my beloved Bobby Brown
Day 15. L'Oreal Infallible Make-up setting spray. Not tried and just run out of current Urban Decay, so will see if this matches up

It didn’t get as far as the picture @OchonAgusOchonOh 😹 I will try to remember to take a picture of tomorrow’s doggy delight and might be able to get DDog in there too, (if he can control himself long enough for a pic!)

I am actually genuinely impressed with that dog calendar. Today’s treat smelled really nice!

Today's Boot was a shiseido eye mask. I quite like a mask, so I'll save those for a pre Christmas pamper day!

Day 16:

Selfridges is a bumper day with 3 products (two full sized) in a huge box. The curation is a bit odd - it would have made more sense to have two products yesterday and two today. That said, very happy with today’s. As a person who struggles with frizz, I do rate the colour wow dreamcoat so very happy to get a full size. And the Sol de Janeiro 68 scent is one I really like - it’s something of a guilty pleasure as it definitely the sort of sweet scent you’d expect a teenager or twenty something to wear rather than a menopausal fifty something, so I tend to only wear it when I’m home. Not sure about the tan drops though - not typically something I use.

Jo Loves is a “lifestyle fragrance” in Snowflake. I think this is just a fancy name for a room spray - but the scent is pleasant.

Day 16 - Flowerbomb Extreme - Victor & Rolf

And it’s lovely so I am very happy 😃

Both my calendars have Shiseido in today! OK is a firming eye mask, and Glamour is 10ml of the Ultimate serum. I've never tried either of these and am keen to, so happy with today.

I love the dream oat too. Aldi do a decent dupe of it as an occasional special that is worth watching out for.

Sol de Janeiro is my guilty pleasure scent too @AprilLady - I know I'm really too old for it at 50 but it's just so addictive!

I think I forgot to post yesterday but I was very happy with the Jo Loves Pomelo hand cream. I have a few citrusy perfumes that this will go well with and I go through a lot of hand cream.

Day 16 Jo Loves is a mini (15ml) room spray in Snowflakes. Smells nice and will be a good size for travel.

StyleKorean Day 16 is a clay stick mask from Skin1004, a nice change from the sheet masks that seem to be in most calendars. It's like a giant lipstick that you draw all over your face with 😁

Morning! I love that SDJ spray @AprilLady and I don’t mind admitting to it - it’s lovely!

Today’s DIY was two Dizziak hair products, Rituals was micellar water, which I have zero interest in, but I am very pleased with the fudge and matcha.

CC was the ridiculous tiny crackers - I was too bored of them to take a picture. (I am saving up each packet of crackers so that by day 24 I will have enough to make one full-sized version!)

As promised, today’s pic includes DDog’s treat from his calendar. I have also added a pic of him waiting patiently for permission to eat it!
