General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

It's the same hair pin we got in the Space NK Advent yesterday, but ours was plastic and purple!

Did that tiny little hair pin come in that enormous box, and the box was presumably in a pretty drawer?

I was between Space Nk and BT but picked BT in the end as I got a gift with purchase .
Purple is an odd colour choice

Korres olive stone scrub today, roll of stickers yesterday which I was unimpressed by!

Oh, and today’s cheese was a delicious Wigmore, so feeling back in charity with the Paxton and Whitfield calendar (I loathe Stilton so yesterday was a bad day).

I've just googled the hairpin. It is £85 for one?! I'd want it to be doing my hair for me for that price. Still, much better than the one (1) purple plastic one in Space NK at least.

Day 15 - Good Girl by Caroline Herrera

My DD has had this before and I like it so I am happy 😊

It must be hairpin stage of advents as Vogue
is a Machete hair clip and French pin, which retail for £32 and £29 respectively.
My DIY is a Allies eye cream, looking forward to trying this eye cream
Degusta is decaf tea, will go to a charity box as DH drinks Earl Grey and I drink Red Bush.

2 mini perfumes today in JL. Googled the full size price and they're £200 each!!

Delighted with today's Diptyque. One of the highlights so far, it's a metal perfume case with a solid, refillable perfume in Orpheon, another of my favourite scents. It's beautifully designed and heavy weight.

Oh that's lovely @Seahorses12 😍 . I remember having solid perfumes back in the 80's and had forgotten all about them.

Day 15:

Selfridges is Champo leave in hair cream. Happy to give this a go.

Jo Loves is a small hand cream, Pomelo, which should go well with yesterday’s perfume.

Really pleased with today's No7 which is the pro artist liquid blush I've been wanting to try for ages.

L'Occitane are definitely aiming the bigger stuff at the weekend, this weekend was the Hair Repair shampoo and conditioner in 75 ml. I shall look forward to trying it next wash as my Nuxe shampoo seems not to be working for my hair anymore.

@Hoolahoopsscotch I tried the Initio scents when I was scoping out which BAC to buy, the Side Effect is lovely!

A honey theme for me today. A 19/99 highlighter in shade miele in OK, and a Nuxe honey lip oil in Glamour.

I got a huge Bamford rose body gel in F&M today, a good sized almond oil and Shea butter hand cream in Korres and a vetiver ecarlate oerfume in l’AP. It’s not a fragrance I’ve tried before - it has a very strange smell but it’s really lovely.

@Seahorses12. I love the Diptique solid perfumes and I find they last well on me.

That's great to know thank you. I love the design of the cases so will definitely buy a refill when the time comes. I've been using the hair mist as a spray perfume since you mentioned it too!

@Seahorses12 The hair mist is definitely strong enough to use as a perfume isn’t it! I’ve been using a l’eau papier hair mist instead of perfume for ages and I’m sure it smells the same!

Day 15 for StyleKorean is a Green Tomato Clay Cleanser 30ml and a tube of Mary & May Blackberry Intense Cream.

ASOS today is a Revolution Silk Blush in Sundown Seige. Haven’t looked at the actual colour yet.
