General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

I have the beauty, hair & body and fragrance, but I won't post the 12 day ones if someone doesn't want me to, I don't want to ruin it for anyone ✌️🩷

I'll be joining in tomorrow with a few AC's. I've gone a bit OTT with ac's this year and have H&B, Rituals, Bonne Maman, Bird & Blend tea and the bargainous cheese AC (although that one hasn't arrived yet as I only purchased it yesterday).

I’ve got the ASOS calendar out of packaging and set up for the morning, I’m excited! Last year I had my first BAC, Marks and Spencer’s. Hoping this years BAC is a bit more useable and fun

I'll be joining you on waifs and strays to open my Sephora calendar. I am on the spacenk thread, too. I have Glossybox and ASOS too but am keeping them for Jadvent.

I won’t post anything until the appropriate time tomorrow, but I’m going to do the same as last year and have one calendar that I open when I go to bed each night. I never go before 1, so it will be a nice little goodnight treat each night 😆

I do the same. It's always after 12 so it's the correct day.

And for me! Although I did swap a few days for bits I'd got in a couple of John Lewis beauty boxes. I did all this weeks ago so I have completely forgotten what is in there. Every day will be a surprise!

Oooh @shumbuffle Glosters AC very nice! I love their pottery (and have toooooo much).

I have a self-made AC using up some stash items, in my gorgeous F&M box from a few years ago that was too lovely to sell.

Also in the Clary household we have Degustabox (DH); Pokémon (DS1) and (very tiny) capybaras (DD). DS2 is at uni and is fine not having an AC #notmyson

I have a Frankenstein calendar (in F&M box from 2 years ago) made up from last years Harrods 12 day, Liberty’s Scent with Love kit and a few bits (mainly perfume) I’ve bought from Vinted. We also have Whittards tea, an Adventure Exit game, Minecraft Lego and chocolate in last years Shiseido bac box, all delivered by the elf tonight!

I will be opening the lovechild of Sephora and SpaceNk with a bit of Vinted Selfridges/Liberty thrown in. I also have a purebred M&S as a surprise last minute purchase so will be on that chat and a mongrel fragrance advent made up of lots of random stuff

F&M home made offered me Versace fragrance today – nice. The idea is that I use these items asap (they are all from my stash!) rather than leaving them to sit in state for a month, so going to be wearing this one today.

A hyaluronic mask from H&B today- by Flora, not a brand I know, but that’s one of the things I like about H&B. My skin is feeling a bit irritated by the weather soI’ll give it a go after work this evening.

Really pleased with Day 1. As I was going to bed last night I was hoping for a fragrance to kick things off so I was delighted with Love Don't be Shy by Killian. And it's lovely, from reading the description (lots of talk of marshmallow) I thought it would be too sweet for me but while it is sweet, it's not at all sickly. Its a soft, floral sweetness.

DP has the MOTH cocktail calendar and got a margarita this morning. DS (18) has a graffiti accessories calendar (bit niche!) but hasn't surfaced yet so not sure what he got.

Rituals shower oil today for me. Dd got a mirror compact and some silver snowflake earrings which are very pretty. Haven’t opened M&S yet as saving for after work and liberty was perfume. Happy advent everyone
