General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

Anthropologie was s perfume too, who is Elijah morning after. It is nice and not a brand I know.

Elle has AKT body balm in ‘Orange Grove’. Smells lovely and I’ll use it.

Gel polish in Just my Look bit of a disappointment as I don’t polish my own nails. Will add to the Vinted pile and hopefully get something better tomorrow. Happy advent all!

A full size (I think) Winter candle in my White Company calendar. Happy with that and impressed it was still packaged properly in its own box rather than loose in the drawer.

I've got JL and have the Love Don't Be Shy By Kilian perfume. I think it may be a bit sweet for me but will try it after my shower, otherwise the teens will probably like it.
The rest of the fam have got:
Dd1 - mascara from Glossy box
Dd2 - lip gloss from Sephora
DH - chutney advent calendar and had a potting shed pickle whatever that may be!

I’ve got the Harvey Nicks one this year - worked out well buying with a 15% off beauty offer and redeeming £75 of loyalty points.

Pleased with the Augustinus Bader Rich Cream today, I do usually use the regular cream but the Rich one might be a useful upgrade for the winter.

So a good start!

I’m Sephora as can’t see a thread for it . Calendar was a surprise . Just opened a summer Friday sweet mint lip balm very happy as I’ve wanted to try these.

I have some things from the Harvey Nicks calendar in my Frankenstein 😍 I've put them in on the correct drawer days, so I won't spoil anything.

Yepoda day one is heavenly, I have an almost finished pot of this, so good timing, the sent is a really light and buttery vanilla.

Off to a good start, my DIY advent is a Westman Atelier blush and a tin of coffee in Degusta.

Am hoping Vogue turns up today as well.

I don't have an advent calendar but I enjoy this thread every year, especially the unusual ones such as tea or jam. I hope you don't mind my enjoying your calendars vicariously.

I had never heard of yepoda before but I love most of the K-beauty stuff I've tried so I plan on checking them out.

I have Boots skincare. Very pleased with today. It's the Arun milky toner today. I haven't tried it before but have just finished a TirTir one and really liked that. Full size too, which is great.

Morning all! I opened the first Korres when I went to bed last night and got a cucumber eye mask.

F&M was waiting for me this morning as my birthday/xmas present and had a sleep hair band. I can’t remember what’s in the rest of it but the hair and was the one thing that I had remembered I wouldn’t use 😆
2024 L’artisan parfumeur is a 10ml bottle of Abyssae, which is gorgeous.

JL too! Wanted a perfume and happy to get one on Day 1 😁

We also have Pokémon, Lego Minecraft and Hotel Chocolat calendars, but I’ve only opened Lumene so far: Lip Glow Oil Balm in Candy Cane. A decent size, so objectively a good start, but not something I’ll use.

Day 1 of Sephora is a Sunday Riley lip balm. I've never tried any of their lip products before.

Morning! I’ve got the ASOS calendar, MAC lipstick for me in an all rounder kinda shade. Happy with that as I’ve coveted MAC lipsticks but thought them a bit too expensive for me. I AM worth it!

I've got an advent calendar with 'a festive question, riddle or brainteaser' each day. Will share if there's anything good (or spectacularly bad). Interested in keepincool's cheese and tea ACs.

Morning, nice to have a treat on this grey and windy morning. Just opened day 1 of Diptique, it's a 45ml hand cream in Do Sun scent. Will make a nice present for someone.

@OchonAgusOchonOhi have really dry and reactive skin, so finding Yepoda this year has been one of my highlights. I have really soft skin now and when I look at pictures from before I started using it, I can see a real transformation.

Today for me:

Jo Loves: a Pink Vetiver body lotion. I wa sort of hoping to start with a perfume, but this will get used.

Selfridges: Charlotte Mensah Marketti Oil Salt scrub. From the instructions it looks like you use this as a sculp scrub before shampooing. I use the Christophe Robin salt scrub regularly, so it will be interesting to see how this one compares.

Not sure about @Growlybear83 ’s headband, but looks like most people are off to a good start.

@Youngatheart00 I’m a big fan of the AB Rich cream, and it is not in many calendars this year, so enjoy.

I’ll be opening and trying my cheese later - will post again.

LF this morning was the rose marine cream. This is one of my favourite moisturisers. Small but nice and for the calendar price I wouldn't expect a larger size!

ASOS is a Mac lipstick in a light brown - cool teddy - it's nice, I'm wearing it today.

I've decided to use everything on the day where possible, so it doesn't end up in a drawer of doom somewhere!

DP has bonne maman and had an apricot and honey jam
