General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

Day 5:

Selfridges is the Gisou hair oil. I do use hair oil, so happy with this.

Jo Loves is a candle - Christmas Trees scent. I really like this one for this time of year.

This morning I had a travel size of Ex Nihilo Spiky Muse in with the SNK cleanser. I think I bought that from Vinted.

I've kept the cleansing gelee from the SNK calendar in my Frankenstein today, and popped in a few extras. The Ren eye cream from someone's Look fantastic calendar and a Byoma body wash 😊

I also kept my Frankenstein fragrance calendar as the same and it was day 3 today 😍 I've put the photo as sensitive to hopefully not spoil it for others but I love it and sprayed myself with it already.

Morning waifs!

Day 5 in my JL is Trinny eye shadow and Charlotte Tilbury lipstick 😍. Think this is the right drawer and not a frankensteined one and loving that its double make up for a Friday.

I only had the eyeshadow so think yours may be Frankensteined! Unless I'm missing the lipstick....

Pleased with this, love roll on applicator type of application.
Not heard of this brand before, but it's a Korean brand, sold in Boots. Has good reviews.

Happy with BAC so far, good selection of skincare, waiting for some make-up!

I love the roller eye cream too. So much easier to apply

Love the floral Street perfumes! Treated myself to a bottle of vanilla orchid when it was on half price offer at boots last month. Enjoy!

Boots Skincare - Super Facialist - Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil

I'm happy with this. I prefer balms but an oil is nice for a change or for travel. It's a decent size too (100ml).

Loving this thread, such a lovely way to enjoy the run up to Christmas seeing what everyone gets

StyleKorean Day 5 - Vegan collagen eye serum

Today in Diptyque I received my first meh item, an exfoliating handwash. I will use it, but not very exciting.

@Seahorses12 that advent is a true thing of beauty!!

I had this today too. Smells lovely but agree it’s a bit odd that it wasn’t boxed

My Nivea calendar that I received from my lovely teenage daughter contained:

Day 4 (yesterday) - Pearl roll on deo
Day 5 (today) - soft cream

Another good day for me. I got a 10ml Passage d’enfer fragrance in L’artisan Parfumeur, face cream in Korres, and a lovely candle in F&M.

I love the soft cream although I find it a bit light for winter now that my skin (and the rest of me too) is post menopausal. I bring it on holidays and it doubles up as body cream and face cream.

I have been away for a few days so had a few doors to open

and the DH curation , a bauble for the Xmas tree ,a clue to a hidden in the house Christmas tree scented diffuser & a guess braclet.

hmm Thanks. I just did a search and there is a Charlotte tilbury lipstick in the calendar so I wonder if mine was moved from a drawer to that one by my advent fiddler?

I do love the design, it's amazing to look at with the books and cat theme. I will definitely keep it for refilling in the future.

Jo Loves day 5 is a Christmas Trees votive. I'm happy with this but it seems a bit odd to have this and the layered votive which is Snowflakes + Christmas Trees.

OK - 15ml Bobbi Brown Face Base, RRP £19. Very happy with this.

Glamour - 265g Vanilla-icious body butter. I was hoping for the Pistachio but actually this doesn't smell too sweet and fake, it's actually got a lovely scent. RRP £12.

I'm enjoying my calendars this year, they're not luxe but they're interesting and useful.

The Bobbi Brown face base is lovely, got it part of a gift set last year. Smells gorgeous too.
