As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

I've tried the merit blush today that I bought from someone else's (I wanna say sephora) calendar and put in today's harrods drawer. I really like it, the colour is nice and it's easy to blend. I think I'll need to reapply it before going out later though, I'm not sure it's going to last all afternoon.

Caggie09 · 04/12/2025 13:51

Laneige bouncy & firm serum in Cult Beauty today. Used it before and liked it, so will get popped in the backup drawer.

@Tangomango1 gosh I can’t remember either 😝

Tangomango1 · 04/12/2025 14:39

@WhatILoved Ha ha! It will be a surprise for us both then! Good! 😀

Gruum calendar:

I missed posting day 3 as it was an office day, I also realise I haven't posted a photo of the calendar itself.

Day 3 - Retinol and vitamin c under eye treatment, I've used it and it feels nice.

Day 4 - Body butter bar (also shows the additional box that each item is in). I really like these bars, I'm not keen on tangerine though so I'll need to see what it actually smells like.

Calendar itself, it's pretty. There was a cardboard sleeve but I binned it!

Sylvan Glow today is a black mascara by Heimish. Not thrilling as I seem to have about a hundred black mascaras. One for my charity stash I think.

ASOS is a Philip Kingsley conditioning treatment. I can never get excited about hair stuff.

IlovePond · 04/12/2025 16:23

Hi,

I was pleased to find an eye cream in my DIY calendar today, (I did fill it myself, but ages ago so have forgotten which drawer is which!)

Less pleased with the Rituals wipes and the minty tea, but today’s cheese was nice - a mature cheddar, which I ate with the last of the chutney from day two. Chocolate is always welcome, so I am eating that in a minute. (I am really liking my over-priced Heroes calendar!)

Btw: I am still annoyed with myself for not acting quickly enough to get the LF fragrance calendar, so am enjoying hearing about the contents! I hope they do another one next year.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 04/12/2025 18:08

Ubiquitous Philip Kingsley hair thing from ASOS. I really can't get excited about this brand. The elasticiser just frazzles my hair, but I'll give this a go, it says it's honey and peach, but just smells conditioner-y to me.

Bonne maman was cherry and violet leaf jam, which is a bit more exciting! 😂

I love that perfume, one of my absolute favourites! Which calendar was it in? Hope you like it!

Sorry for late reply
It is the Brown Thomas one
Wore the perfume today

They both sound delicious. Don't get them mixed up though!

I’m also loving the LF fragrance calendar. There’s lots of more niche perfumes in it that I’ve never tried before.
JL has been lovely too.

@AprilLady I really rate the drunk elephant bronzing drops. A drop in with my foundation, or primer gives me a drop of colour and it has a really healthy sheen. I rave about it 🤣

Day 4 Stylist Latest in Beauty calendar - 3 sets of eye masks.

Brown Thomas continues to look excellent!

Today’s cheese was Italian - Pecorino Gran Sardo. Strong but good.

OK beauty Calendar: a Leighton Denny nail polish in a nude-light pink colour. This was one of the items I took out a while back, I really like it. It is a colour I would not have bought myself but found out I really like and suits me.

One 'interesting' feature of the polish is that it wholey lifts off after a few days!
I actually don't mind it as I don't have to use nail polish remover and can change into a new colour without hassle, but I think for many this would be a negative feature.

Today’s BT is a perfume
Le Labo
The Matcha 26
15 ml
Never tried this before .

Oh I LOVE that fragrance so much! it was in the Liberty AC three years ago and I RPd as many as I could find on eBay – recently finished the last one but I have kept the bottle to remind me of the smell.

I've not heard of the Brown Thomas AC but maybe there will be more bottles of The Matcha for me to acquire...

My home-made calendar btw was a very fancy serum by Dermalogica.

Roundaboot · 05/12/2025 07:27

I'm really pleased with the Trinny London
E2E eyeshadow in JL today, especially as I was hoping for makeup. I was starting to think I'd got a defective one though as I couldn't get the lid off but just managed it.

wheretheheckissummer · 05/12/2025 07:28

Today’s offering from Just my look. This is something that I will definitely use so happy today 😊

Ooh lovely @wheretheheckissummer ! My sleep mask was my overall most used item from vogue two years ago! I still love it!

Evergreen21 · 05/12/2025 07:48

Day 5 of my sephora calendar is a Neom candle called Perfect night's sleep. I actually quite like Neom candles so am happy with this. I'm a little surprised that it didn't come boxed as then people would have the option to regift if they aren't fans. I came across the Neom brand through advent calendars.

HollyGolightly4 · 05/12/2025 07:49

Boots premium is a floral street perfume - Arizona bloom. V happy. I've sprayed it, I like it and I love a handbag perfume!
