I have two empties to report:

  • Boots biodegradable fragrance free baby wipes: I actually prefer the ones that are mildly fragranced but what is clear despite no longer having a baby (although my son WILL ALWAYS BE MY BABY), baby wipes are a staple - so many uses: quick stain removal from clothes and sofa, quick removal of hair dye from face and so on
  • Just for men ultra: OMG Blown away by this - got 2 uses out of the ready mixed tube - great for a 10 minute coverage of roots. Did my eyebrows with it as well. Will defo RP at some point.

I’m finally using stuff that I don’t really want to use but it’s clogging up my drawers:

Nip and Fab vitamin C set - the small serum was ok, smelled of oranges. Tub serum was very stingy and the cream a bit useless. Used it mainly on my back.

Rituals shower foam - very very gentle.

Loreal detox shampoo — got this during Amazon Prime. It’s very good, the same as Ouai clarifying one.

First Aid Beauty scrub - feels like cement. Used it on my legs only.

Sunday Riley ceo - bought a few sets of these a while ago. Very meh.

Molton Brown mini shower gel - what a waste of plastic. Wasn’t even that nice.

Samples - Allies of skin was awful; weird smell and texture.Clarins was ok.

Unfortunately I weakened and added a number of smaller sized things to my stash. I’m not very good at this am I?!

On the flip side I have finished a neck cream which has been lurking for ages. Used my tube squisher to get the last bit out, so now I can go back to the one I already had on the go and work through that.

Theturtlesarecarryingtheworld · 24/01/2026 18:55

I have added loads to my want to buy list!
Finished body scrub, was DD’s won’t re buy. Finished posh toothpaste I found in drawer of doom.

Which neck cream(s) @TragicMuse? I'm trying to decide which one to buy. Tried a small Trinny Elevator and it really worked but I think it gave me spots on my jaw so I'm reluctant to buy a full size

The finished one is a This Works neck cream which must have been in a beauty box. It’s very strongly scented (lilies, maybe?) but feels quite nice. But it’s a bugger if you don’t like the smell.

The one I am returning to is Trinny Elevator - I love it! I’m on my second bottle…

namechange0998776554799000 · 24/01/2026 21:59

Thanks - This Works has been one of the ones I'm considering but I'd read people commenting on the smell. Maybe I'll look out for a small one in an edit.

I'm conflicted about the Elevator, I love the fragrance, texture and I'm sure it had a pretty immediate effect. But I think if I get any of it on my actual face rather than my neck, my skin really reacts. Maybe I will stick with it and just be really careful when applying.

TragicMuse · 24/01/2026 23:28

It’s not an unpleasant smell, but it’s A LOT!!

This Works does have strong smell. I'm trying to use it up. I'd wondered about trying Trinny's.

SheilaFentiman · 25/01/2026 06:55

I have the This Works neck and cleavage cream and I don’t think it smells
much. Perhaps my nose is insensitive!

i have never had a beauty advent calender so I treated myself to this magical box. It really did cheer me up and my younger DD took a few of the products too so she was equally delighted. This was amazing value for money.

AnonAnonmystery · 25/01/2026 09:10

BIossomtoes · 25/01/2026 12:37

Oh that’s tempting. I must sit on my hands.

AnnaMagnani · 25/01/2026 14:00

Does it count as an empty if it was a single use sheet mask? Anyway I bought the Garnier Vit C sheet mask on a 3 for 2 and have liked it so much I can't wait to use up the other 2 to post about it.

I'm away from home two night a week so there is no-one to see me looking like Hannibal Lecter in my sheet mask and it's a nice opportunity to do me things.

My skin was just amazing the following day, so glowy and I swear my sun damage had faded.

Being a cheapskate I then used it the other side up the following day - still lovely.

wheresmyshoe · 25/01/2026 20:12

9/100

Three types of under eye patches, the MZ Skin were by far the best. The blue collagen ones did very little, the estee Lauder ones are years old so no great surprise they were a bit hopeless. The MZ skin gold are brilliant, slippery as heck but performance is excellent. They depuff, brighten and moisturise.

I had a huuuuge chuck out today! I didn’t actually count how many things went in the bag, but some (a lot)of it came with me when I moved house in 2014. I was pretty ruthless as most of it had been sat in my muji drawers and not touched in ages. All opened though so I wasn’t going to trust it.A lot of the old style Chantecaille pebbles and loads of bare minerals. Nars lipsticks and blushes etc etc etc. I had loads of empty drawers which I peompty filled back up with all the Xmas stuff I had lying around. I’ve also pulled the drawers to the front of my cupboard so I can actually get at them easier.

TragicMuse · 26/01/2026 12:47

I need to do a bit of a chuck-out. I’ve got some Kiehls midnight oil stuff which smells really stale. It’s YEARS old so it’s way past whatever its best was meant to be. And I tried a Patrick Roth hydraquench thing which was verging on itchy - I couldn’t leave it on for the 3+ minutes, so I’m going to ditch that.

Apart from that I seem to have 3 cleansers open at the moment. And 2 exfoliators - one grainy, one chemical. Must get working through them!!

Ilikeyoursleeves · 26/01/2026 16:42

@TragicMuse bin them! I binned a mascara last month that smelled absolutely gross, it wasn’t even that old! It also hurt my eyes when applying it, the brush was like a wire brush and scratched my eyelids! I felt so good binning it even though it was a good make, think I got it in an AC along the way (Ilia mascara)

TragicMuse · 26/01/2026 17:21

I’m going to do it!

What terrible mascara for you though. Definitely one to ditch.

CorneliaStreet · 26/01/2026 19:20

A few empties:

Axis-Y Quinoa Gel Cleanser - 180ml. One of the nicest gel cleansers I’ve tried. Feels lovely to use and doesn’t strip my skin at all. This bottle has lasted about seven months of using it every morning, so good value too.

Lumene Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence - 30ml. Liked the texture of this and I think it did have a brightening effect. A bit too fragranced though.

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask - 10ml. Not quite as good as the water version for me, but still very nice. I’ve got a mini of the cica version to try next.

Perfume minis/samples - Juliette Has a Gun Miami Shake (a bit sickly sweet but not awful) and Prada Infusion d’Amande (lovely).

Faith in Nature Stimulating Shampoo - 400ml. Fine apart from the horrible medicinal scent.

Soap & Glory Fresh as Fig Body Scrub - 200ml. Scent was nice but it had a weird gelatinous texture and wasn’t very scrubby.

  1. Victor & Rolf BonBon perfume. I had this a long time, and it had that going off scent to it. I don't think it stood out to me as one I'd repurchase anytime soon.

  2. Boots hyaluronic acid sheet mask. Would RP. I love these.

  3. Lush Honey I Washed the Kids shower gel sample. I know this is quite a popular scent, but it's not my favorite. Yes, it's nourishing on my skin, but no to the scent. No RP here.

  4. Summer Fridays Lip Butter Vanilla. A very sad but satisfying empty. It has to be one of my top lip products. It is clear, so I use it alone or on top of lipstick to give a glossy look. It stays on my lips for hours, and even then you don't need to re-apply as it moisturises well. I have other SF balms, in all different shades, but I think this is 1st place for me.👌

  5. Banila Co nourishing cleansing balm. I will admit, I was feeling a bit "meh" about it when I first used it. But, it's really grown on me. I usually love a scent to my cleansing balms, so I was disappointed initially. It takes all my makeup off, doesn't give me foggy eyes, and leaves my face super soft. I really like this and will repurchase, but would also like to try others from this brand too.

  6. Eucerin Urea 5% night cream. Basic, but does the job as my evening moisturizer. Keeps my eczema at bay even when I have small flares. I will repurchase. I will look into other Eucerin creams.

Good to hear you liked the Banila cleansing balm. I have a set of four minis but haven't opened them yet. I'm interested to try!

Caggie09 · 26/01/2026 21:07

@Fleecy Would be interested to know what you think of them all when you use them. As i would like to try the others!

Fleecy · 26/01/2026 21:32

I'm finishing up an Elemis one, the rose scent, so I shall open one of these next. I'll use the yellow last so I can report back on the others first!
