I once met a man on holiday with no toe nails! Can't remember why. Now, can anyone recommend a good scrub? I liked the body shop almond one because it smelled like marzipan but couldn't find it last time I went in there. Around £10ish? My legs get horrible in summer because of having to shave so often.

suedonim · 08/06/2008 21:01

I saw a woman at the airport here whose toe nails were so long, they were curling under and criss-crossing each other. And they were painted with nail polish. I know it's rude to stare and all that but my eyes took on a mind of their own and kept zooming back to the sight, even as I told dd not to stare.

expatinscotland · 08/06/2008 21:03

gross!

when did this turn into the Manky Feet thread?

Twiglett · 08/06/2008 21:03

dh has barely any nails on one hand ... I think it's freak you out .. and one of his toes is at right-angles to his foot too ... sad to think that people would notice, never thought they would tbh

2loudboys · 08/06/2008 21:04

Mine too, Used2, but I have tried lots of scrubs and none of them works as well as a good scrub with a loofah mitt in the shower followed by Dove Pro-Age body lotion (stick with me here regardless of whether you are in your 20's) BECAUSE it has a quite high percentage of AHA stuff in it. Nothing else works as well if you have shite legs! PS I do qualify for Dove Pro-Age as I am ancient .

2loudboys · 08/06/2008 21:05

Oops, sorry posted in wrong thread - too much multitasking .

maidamess · 08/06/2008 21:07

I stare at peoples feet obsessively.

But then I'm feet phobic, and am jealous of folk with pretty trotters. (Like dh GRRR)

2loudboys · 08/06/2008 21:08

Hang on, no I didn't, thread just went a bit AWOL and didn't recognize it - ignore me, I'll just go away now .

expatinscotland · 08/06/2008 21:09

my sister has the cutest feet and toes i've ever seen!

although dd2 is starting to catch up with her in the cute feet sweepstakes.

dd1 has what i call tall people/model feet - long, narrow and skinny toes.

JackieNo · 08/06/2008 21:10

Don't bother with scrubs, use scrubby gloves - work really well, and never run out.

controlfreakyagain · 08/06/2008 21:11

why? what happened to his nails / toe?

Sparkletastic · 08/06/2008 21:12

Avon Skin So Soft spray oil - lovely sheen for parched skin AND hated by evil biting insects the world over!

Twiglett · 08/06/2008 21:13

chronic psoriatic arthritis

maidamess · 08/06/2008 21:14

expat my dh has the most perfectly formed tootsies I've ever seen on a man.

I have 'steamrollerfeet', flat and wide, my poor dd has the same.

She's obsessed with other peoples feet too. Wonder where she gets it from?

used2bthin · 08/06/2008 21:14

Thanks2loudboys right thread it just wasn't mine if that makes sense! Loofah and scrubby gloves both good ideas but I like scrubs with oil in, I once had a sample of really gorgeous stuff but it was £££! The Dove stuff sounds good. I use a half tan half moisturisor type thing atm which makes me need exfoliation even more. Will get some dove though maybe for days when I'm not using the tanning one.

suedonim · 08/06/2008 21:25

Twiglett, dh has weirdo finger and toe nails due to psoriatic arthritis, as well. He doesn't give a monkey's whether anyone notices.

controlfreakyagain · 08/06/2008 21:30

poor dh twig. sounds horrid.

womblingalong · 08/06/2008 21:44

oh, you can buy the PP stuff in Superdrug btw.

I used to have lovely feet, then i had children....

The best oil, IMO

suedonim · 08/06/2008 21:57

This talk of nails makes me recall a drug addict I knew who injected temazepan tablets into her arm. The chalky content blocked the blood supply to her fingers and the nails and ends of her fingers gradually went black and fell off. One of the most revolting sights I've ever seen.

suedonim · 08/06/2008 21:58

Hmm, sorry about that...far TMI.

lizandlulu · 09/06/2008 10:24

just letting you know, that pretty polly stuff is all buy one get one half price in superdrug

NomDePlume · 09/06/2008 10:26

sue, my uncle was a heroin addict for a long time. All of his main veins collapsed so he ended up injecting under his toenails.

[shudder]

Gobbledigook · 09/06/2008 20:46

Gutted my Sainsbos had not the Champneys spray thingy. Argh!
