Which burgundy trainers? Help me decide.

I have identified that slimline, not chunky, burgundy trainers will pull a lot of my outfits together, and so are a wise investment. Specifically, they must be at least in part leather because my Levi’s jeans transfer colour as I have learnt on my old white trainers, so unless it was black or navy, it cannot be full suede.

So far, two options but I have not tried on either, would need to order online for my rural location.

OG Sambas are appeal most in terms of how the look, but are they heading out with so much exposure? https://www.sevenstore.com/womens-footwear/womens-sneakers/adidas-maroonoff-whitegum-3-samba-og-sneaker/?sku=4121821800&locale=gb&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=SEVENSTORE_UK_Performance_Max_Footwear&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22170100515&gbraid=0AAAAACo3D7vL22PpYfWRpezJymUEhuIkB&gclid=CjwKCAjwpOfHBhAxEiwAm1SwEnlfkGntKVb03DG_EwhKfXKIJowudfN6TLCXJxoHPqw3rp-OU3tawhoCV-IQAvD_BwE

Or these? A little concerned about white fabric lining at the back which may catch blur colour transfer, and so will look naff with anything other than long jeans?

Which ones should I go for?

If you have narrowish feet, the Vagabond Cody burgundy trainers at John Lewis are really lovely. (Sadly I dont, and I have given up on burgundy trainers because I haven't found any nicer than these),

Bigminnie1 · 23/10/2025 20:40

Definitely the Sambas- they are gorgeous!

Executrixnotextraordinaire · 23/10/2025 22:13

Sambas all day long, really nice 👌

TokyoSushi · 23/10/2025 22:14

Samba!

YellowGuido · 23/10/2025 22:16

Sambas are classic - they’ll never go out of style…

OopsieeDaisy · 23/10/2025 22:26

Another vote for the sambas!

Jay3004 · 23/10/2025 22:29

Definitely sambas or the burgundy Spezials

Drivingmissrangey · 23/10/2025 22:40

I find Gola do not wear well at all.

I have some burgundy Vejas. I love them.

MrsJigsaw · 23/10/2025 22:58

Sambas!

Mistyglade · 23/10/2025 23:03

Nah everyone wears sambas. I’d get the Tommy’s I think they’re way cooler and the soles looks supportive and comfy as hell.

Edited

Agree. Sambas are sooo boring. I never understood why people want to wear the same trainers as everyone else. The other pair are a bit more unique.

Averynicelady · 23/10/2025 23:35

I didn’t know I needed burgundy trainers, but now I think maybe I do!

Travelfairy · 23/10/2025 23:50

Sambas more comfy than TH i found x

SkiAndTravelTheWorldWithMyDog · 23/10/2025 23:59

I have a nice pair of new balance maroon trainers

UnintentionalArcher · 24/10/2025 00:04

@Bathrine I get the comments that the Sambas are more ubiquitous but I also think they’re much much nicer

PrimaniTu · 24/10/2025 07:44

Sambas for sure. They go with everything and are really comfortable.

NokiaRock · 24/10/2025 07:50

The Sambas are nice.

If you want something with no white bits, look at the Adidas Originals Tobacco trainers in maroon.

This. I’m off to buy some. I am so easily swayed, but they are clearly the thing I’ve been needing!

UpMyself · 24/10/2025 08:05

Of the two, the Sambas. I don't much like either of them.

UpMyself · 24/10/2025 08:29

By that, I mean I neither pair appeals to me. Everyone seems to be wearing Sambas or Gazelles here, so I'd look for something a bit different.

Rina66 · 24/10/2025 08:33

I got these from M & S last year, they are so much more comfortable than my Gazelles and Sambas! Half the price too.

Which burgundy trainers? Help me decide.
UpMyself · 24/10/2025 08:34

@Rina66 , those are much nicer.

Viviennemary · 24/10/2025 08:38

fiorentina · 23/10/2025 22:33

Sambas definitely although not everyone finds them comfortable.

These could be an option too..

I like these ones. The Sambas are a bit too like football boots I thought. The M & S ones are nice too.

UpMyself · 24/10/2025 09:09

No to the Golas. They look cheap.
