Which burgundy trainers? Help me decide.

I have identified that slimline, not chunky, burgundy trainers will pull a lot of my outfits together, and so are a wise investment. Specifically, they must be at least in part leather because my Levi’s jeans transfer colour as I have learnt on my old white trainers, so unless it was black or navy, it cannot be full suede.

So far, two options but I have not tried on either, would need to order online for my rural location.

OG Sambas are appeal most in terms of how the look, but are they heading out with so much exposure? https://www.sevenstore.com/womens-footwear/womens-sneakers/adidas-maroonoff-whitegum-3-samba-og-sneaker/?sku=4121821800&locale=gb&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=SEVENSTORE_UK_Performance_Max_Footwear&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22170100515&gbraid=0AAAAACo3D7vL22PpYfWRpezJymUEhuIkB&gclid=CjwKCAjwpOfHBhAxEiwAm1SwEnlfkGntKVb03DG_EwhKfXKIJowudfN6TLCXJxoHPqw3rp-OU3tawhoCV-IQAvD_BwE

Or these? A little concerned about white fabric lining at the back which may catch blur colour transfer, and so will look naff with anything other than long jeans?

Which ones should I go for?

The Sambas get my vote. Not a fan of the contrast of the sole on the other pair.

ukathleticscoach · 24/10/2025 12:11

Both are bad for your feet with no structure or support from the midsole

MabelMoo23 · 24/10/2025 18:17

I’ve got the Burgundy spezials and I absolutely love them

I agree. They’re very flat.

I got these from M & S last year, they are so much more comfortable than my Gazelles and Sambas! Half the price too.

I have these in 4 colours now.
They fit my fairly wide feet and are quite supportive and supremely comfortable from the first wear. I've walked miles in them. I love Sambas but they are just too flat for me.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 24/10/2025 18:43

I ordered the burgundy spezials, as I love my brown/beige ones, but I found them slightly too purple. Sent those back, so going to try the sambas.

I have these in a different colour, super comfortable!

Rina66 · 24/10/2025 19:46

Me too @DawnBreaks I’ve got the cream, khaki, navy (kids version) and black😂 Perhaps I need to be banished as I now choose trainers for comfort and not style 🙈

I’ve got those and they are the most comfortable trainer ever. Going to get a pair in another colour

Cometothelightside · 24/10/2025 20:25

I’m also someone who’s just discovered she needs burgundy trainers. Thanks, OP.

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 24/10/2025 20:41

The Sambas for sure. I don’t think “overexposure” of trainers is something anyone would notice let alone care about.

It is when MPs are seen in them. Remember when George Osborne wore New Balance.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 25/10/2025 00:25

Not sure these are the kind of ‘trainers’ you’re looking for but somebody might find the link useful:

I have wide feet so Ecco are quite good for me, plus I can always manage to get something comfy. Haven’t worn them yet though as it’s been pissing down since I bought them!

catin8oot5 · 25/10/2025 00:30

I live in my Sambas and I love them. But if you’re looking for something less chunky I would look at Gazelles. Not sure if they do them in burgandy though

EdinaTheConfessor · 25/10/2025 02:16

Another sheep here who suddenly needs a pair of burgundy trainers. I think I’m going to for the spezials.

PuzzledWatermelon · 25/10/2025 06:11

OP, I have the Sambas in your first link there and I absolutely love them. They get my vote!

Sadza · 25/10/2025 06:45

Everyone is wearing sambas, they will start to look very dated soon. The others look like much better quality.

whatsit84 · 25/10/2025 09:08

I am going to order those burgundy sambas OP, thanks for the link 😂 (and also they are lovely, defo those)

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 25/10/2025 10:02

Yes another who hadn’t realised that I urgently need burgandy trainers until I opened this thread 😂. I like the Sambas but they are middle aged mum uniform, which doesn’t have to be an issue. I think I marginally prefer the Golas posted by a couple of PP. Not keen on the Tommys

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 25/10/2025 10:05

OMG after posting above I have just remembered that I already own burgundy trainers and need to dig them out. Mine are Nike Court Vision low I think but a few years old and can’t find them online
