Glad the Perfume Society post was reported and deleted. Totally inappropriate to use Mumsnet to communicate to their customers. Also not good to recall parcels out for delivery, another bad decision. Doesn't make me want to order from them either.

I missed all the perfume society chats as I was away, but I agree it was unprofessional of them to talk about it on MN rather than communicating directly with customers.

I also find the recalling orders mid-transit to be an uneconomic way of doing business that smacks of being unprofessional, if not a bit spiteful.

I realised the perfume society post was a glitch so didn't bother to order. Not sure how or why they were alerted it was being talked about on mumsnet. Also recalling the parcels mid delivery doesn't sound like a good business decision or very professional.

They said it was customers letting them know but I imagine it was more likely all the traffic coming from MN links. Websites can usually track that sort of thing.

Oh wow!! I've missed a right day in MN world 😳 it's weird how they could intercept the order when it was out for delivery. I've never heard of that before. The PS responding on mn though is quite shocking and bizarre, also not heard of that before. Did anyone get a screenshot of it?

When I put it into group, I honestly thought that it had come up free because I'd signed up to the subscription and kinda thought I was helping them getting more people to sign up. Sorry that it's been a bit of a stressful day for all 🩷

And don’t worry about sharing it, it’s an error on their part not yours. If they’d handled it better they’d probably have come out of it better off once all the new subscriptions kicked in.

Re The perfume Society- I’d like to see what they wrote @ElizabethG81 . Their response does not make any sense to me. The boxes are basically perfume house samples which will have been provided free of charge. From the reactions I’ve seen, they’ve lost a lot of potential customers who would have stayed subscribed and undoubtedly spent quite a bit extra too - that’s kind of what we do here. Very short sighted of them.

In better CS news I received an order from Boop Beauty today and unfortunately the lids on two of the products were smashed. Both were aerosol products so it didn't affect the use but one was a stocking filler for DS so I contacted them to see if they could replace.

They don't send out replacements but on receipt of photos they did refund me in full for both items which was about £25. I could also have chosen a voucher for the full amount plus a bonus amount as an apology. I went for the former as I don't know when I'll want to buy anything else from there. Can't fault the service though, sorted in minutes via their chat function.

That’s exactly what happened to me ! So I will see if it arrives . But regardless I’ll stick with the subscription for a quarter at least . It will still be a surprise because I will have forgotten .

Wow, they definitely went about things the wrong way.

I don’t see why they couldn’t have just emailed this to the affected customers rather than stalking them on Mumsnet.

I suppose it depends how many orders were placed. There's probably a lot of people read the threads for bargains/codes etc. but don't ever post.

I also had great CS today from Next. An Elemis beauty balm was missing from one of my beauty boxes, which has since increased in price from £22 to £25. They are refunding me the £22 and also adding £10 credit to my account, so I'm £7 up 😊

I think someone on MN has alerted them.
