I’m looking to have face “refreshment” surgery in Nordesthetics Clinic in Lithuania. (lift,upper lid reduction and possibly brow lift) …i’m ( suddenly!) in late 50’s and after few tough years and losing few stones I want to feel good and reward myself for once.
I’m fatigued after researching uk options, and not finding a clear winner for me, but I’ve found this clinic to have excellent reviews and the least percentage of poor reviews so far … ( of those with 500 + reviews , except the one uk surgeon who charges from 35k for a facelift .. )…so I’ve decided to bite the bullet and book …any recommendations, advice or experience with them you can share, would be great , (first or second hand),most reviews I read were about great body surgery, and general high standards but not more specific about individual surgeons etc ..so, I don’t have nearly as much specific info as I would like …thank you !

I wouldn’t want to tell anyone else about it until afterwards, and depending how I feel .….It is very personal, it being our face .. identity .. big scary/brave decision.... following quite a journey .. i honestly think it’s v shallow people who find it shallow 😂 ( no, not after the latest hot designer look, nor pretend to be young, and have nothing better to do with my money tree 🙄)

I agree OP, I’m currently researching to get something done in the next few years, but not sure if I will tell people about it for fear of judgement.
I’m not aiming to look 25 again, or look like a Kardashian - I just want to look like the me that I recognise. Since jowls run in my family, I know what’s coming down the line, and I plan on fighting it - I don’t mind wrinkles, but I don’t want my whole face shape to change.

@HornyHornersPinkyWinky exactly .. I honestly don’t see why pinning ears back is acceptable as corrective but not repositioning /pinning skin that’s sagged out of position 🙄

Lots of dated “ age gracefully” attitudes that were shaped hugely by men wanting to put women in their places, shame & tell them what they should and shouldn’t do/ look like at various stages of life. A reason more to do it actually ! 😂
it’s unfair enough that women’s bodies are put through so much hormone (& often other) strain & changes throughout life, and pressure /expectations to look good, until suddenly we are ‘not allowed’ to look good or care … ( wtf) ..

Can someone tell me at what age does caring about looking and feeling good becomes a naughty vanity ungraceful women engage in 😂🙄

Had an upper and lower blepharoplasty with a mid-face lift, and unfortunately am very disappointed with the outcome. Ongoing concerns about facial asymmetry (believe excessive tissue removal from the upper eyelids, lower eyelid area and midface. This has had a devastating impact.
Everyone’s experience is different, but if you’re considering eyelid surgery, I’d strongly recommend getting more than one opinion and seeing a surgeon with specialist expertise in oculoplastic surgery.
Ask detailed questions about the proposed procedure, risks and expected outcome before making a decision. Also get it in writing.

That sounds awful @ByGiddyBird I’m sorry you have gone through that, can I ask what was the devastating impact? Can you not close your eyes now?

Hi @ByGiddyBird I am sorry about your experience,thank you for sharing it, when did you have your procedure? Could it be still settling down? I had a facelift exactly a week ago, and many say takes up to a year for all to fully settle. Is the surgeon being responsive and addressing your concerns? Thinking of you.

@blueshoes just checking how you are, did you get your lift done in the end? I think this is the surgeon you were considering.

Its now over 12 months since the surgery, so this is no longer a healing issue. Raised concerns with the surgeon on many occasions about the eye asymmetry, but he said there had been some asymmetry before the operation. However, it is now much more noticeable than it was previously.
Face also looks hollow and older because of the loss of volume. Have since seen another specialist, who advised that limited options can be done because too much tissue has been removed.
The original surgeon still says he believes he did a good job and said to stop looking at the asymmetry! Found this response very dismissive. Understand that perfect symmetry cannot be guaranteed, but expected any pre-existing asymmetry to be carefully assessed during surgical planning and not made significantly more obvious.
Am now left with a result very unhappy with and very limited options for improvement.

@ByGiddyBird so sorry about your experience, and to be dismissed on top of that is so out of order. You are right, one would think / expect that they would have the experience and eye for details to take existing asymmetry into account in their surgical planning and not do anything that could accentuate it- I wish I had great advice, but I do want to thank you for taking the time to share and to name, and I hope there are good non-invasive cosmetic options you could look into, this field is progressing fast with many innovative options with impressive results. I would consider asking for at least some refund to fund those, i would keep the conversation open about how distressed this has left you and ask him for concrete solutions. I would tell him people on social media sites found your experience troubling and want to know more about who it is and how he will address your concerns. What no surgeon wants is to go viral for all the wrong reasons. Thinking of you.
