Facelift etc..

I’m looking to have face “refreshment” surgery in Nordesthetics Clinic in Lithuania. (lift, upper lid reduction and possibly brow lift) …i’m ( suddenly!) in late 50’s and after few tough years and losing few stones I want to feel good and reward myself for once.
I’m fatigued after researching uk options, and not finding a clear winner for me, but I’ve found this clinic to have excellent reviews and the least percentage of poor reviews so far … ( of those with 500 + reviews , except the one uk surgeon who charges from 35k for a facelift .. )…so I’ve decided to bite the bullet and book …any recommendations, advice or experience with them you can share, would be great , (first or second hand),most reviews I read were about great body surgery, and general high standards but not more specific about individual surgeons etc ..so, I don’t have nearly as much specific info as I would like …thank you !

Look It's totally up to you what you spend your own money on, however vain and superficial it may make you seem to others. But I think the rest of us are allowed an opinion regarding the NHS footing the bill when things go wrong with needless, vanity surgery. I agree it is the same whether said surgery is carried out here or abroad, but foreign surgery does tend to throw up some dreadful, life changing (in a bad way) results.

If you are really feeling so much better from losing weight and becoming healthier why not just embrace ALL of the new you?

Sure everyone has a right to their opinion, and so do I to to think some are neither helpful or pleasant 😂…I admire a person who fully embraces their age, as well as a person who love to look their best, and won’t surrender without a fight 😆..it’s all good … whatever resonates with you .. we are all different and generally better people when we are happier with ourselves … (why should everyone embrace the turkey neck they hate the look of just because you might , or feel pressured to embrace it, or be seen as vain, a burden, not graceful etc etc .. ).

Hi OP, this lady on Insta had extensive skin removal surgery at Nord and has a lot of posts about her experience (very positive). Not the same sort of surgery but you might find it helpful.

I'm not sure why you would voluntarily take the risks of undergoing life-changing surgery when you don't need to, but I guess it's up to you it's your money.

I am one of those who agrees with those finding it rather sad, and there are a lot of very strange looking people out there nowadays due to plastic surgery.

304l · 21/10/2025 14:34

I agree with the pp about try to get in at one of their visiting clinics with the surgeon in London to ask questions etc it’s really informative, I ended up not going with them as what I wanted was complicated, but they were very informative, and I researched a lot about them and very good results and reviews

Honestly i think facelifts are amazing and make people look so much younger and healthier

This is the part that boggles me. These procedures do not make you younger or healthier, in fact you risk health by having unnecessary surgery. Why is everyone so superficial now, why can't health be just that - good health, not something you (think you can) see.

Looking at Priscilla Presley and Meg Ryan is enough to put me off.

Maybe because rightly or wrongly, it makes you feel happier? In a world that’s very ageist and judgemental, especially to women, yes, I don’t feel great about ageing signs …(and I won’t pretend I think a turkey neck looks great on anyone, no matter how healthy they are) ..i generally am a bit of a perfectionist .. I like things to look good and try to make things look their best…whether a home, a garden, an outfit …it’s not the most important thing in life for sure , hence until now I prioritised other things / people … but now , with an empty nest, well past my prime .. and a tired face that doesn’t match my alive and kicking spirit .. why not … I can’t wait ! % YOLO 💃

I'm there next year for a thigh lift! Excited!

I'd recommend travelling out for consultation, it may give you some peace of mind & it's not overly expensive to get there, they also do clinics in the UK, London on occasions too.

You can ask for multiple surgeons to look at what you want doing via email and see what they recommend + then research them individually & book in specifically with them, should you wish, but from what I gather they are all very qualified and very good

Hi, thank you so much , that’s really good advice … and so exciting about your thigh lift! This is one I’d benefit from hugely, but don’t feel brave enough to take it on yet …I’ve seen some inspiring and even life changing results …best of luck … have you booked it all? Keep us posted! 🥳

I'm booked in there in May for a classic facelift OP, I'm 63 and looking a bit ragged round the edges.
My sister lives in Lithuania and ALL her friends go there, it has an excellent reputation with EU standards of care. I didn't fancy Turkey.
They also do their own corrections if anything goes wrong so you won't have to bother the NHS, one of my friends had a 360 degree tummy tuck that needed revision and they did it for free. Medical insurance covered the additional costs of accomodation and rebooking flights.
Just make sure you get medical insurance.
I can't wait. I also had an online consultation with my surgeon beforehand to discuss issues, my main issue is my neck which has gone south.
I've been very impressed so far.

Hi… thank you so much for your posts … i am so excited for you and found your posts really informative and helpful…can i ask which surgeon you decided would be best for you and what medical insurance? I feel so similar regarding wanting to feel and look good for myself really ( and also not bothering with body too much atm .. it’s too much work in my case !).. I found lots of great feedback for body work but not much feedback about face lifts and one very poor recent feedback for facelift ( check Trustpilot, it got me worried, but no clinic/ surgeon has a 100% success rate ..and obviously I don’t know enough details ..), I look forward to any updates or information you might want to share as you approach your surgery date .. thank you 🌹

Thank you for sharing your journey on here.
You are doing everything right with extensive research in advance.
I spent 6 years researching the procedure, the surgeon; questioning myself and my reasoning for wanting it; fretting over a cosmetic procedure which I eventually did have done in London.
It was life changing for me and my self esteem and the way I felt about ME.
I was 55 and wish I had had the confidence to proceed sooner.
There will never be a day I regret it.
I will follow your journey with interest.
Good Luck!

You do you and good luck OP, but I'm sure if you were objective you look absolutely fine as you are. I hope the surgery is the magic bullet you are seeking to make you happier.

If I seemed unkind before, I apologise as it is basically none of my business.

For context my sister had a shit load of cosmetic dentistry which has left her in so much pain and so much difficulty eating that her weight has dropped to 6 and a half stone and her heath is ruined. This has probably coloured my opinion on cosmetic non essential treatments

Hey, no worries at all.. I get it, these experiences do affect our opinions, of course they do…sorry about your sister, that’s just awful..&thank you for your magic bullet wishes, I hope this will be just on time before my face completely falls off 😆..that would make me very unhappy 😊 and would require life long therapy 😂. Thank you for your warm post 🌺

Not really. Hopefully there wont be issues but it's something the OP needs to consider. If it doesnt go to plan the OP wont be going back to Lithuania to get it fixed will she.

Just like the people who get something done in the UK are more likely to turn to the NHS if something goes seriously wrong.

Hi ShakespearsMuse,oh wow, thank you for sharing, so powerful and sincere… it’s quite a journey before the surgery even starts (contrary to what those who accuse us of being superficial think) .. there’s lots of soul searching, doubts, growth and bravery involved ..and you put this in words so well, thank you … I am thrilled the aftermath was so amazing for you as a person …it’s what you’d hope to feel afterwards… I imagine myself regretting spending so much time before finally biting the bullet too, but you got to do what you got to do…I am inspired 😊🌹

I have heard great things about that clinic. I had a deep plane facelift at Coppergate in York in April, it achieved my objectives and I am happy with the outcome.. It was important to me to have it done in this country and I had total faith in my surgeon Mr Chris West.

Would you mind saying what you paid for that? I think I will probably end up going with a deep plane as well and I will probably do it in the UK so I need to have an idea of cost. Did this include blephoplasty as well?

HeadDeskHeadDesk · 21/10/2025 17:19

There are plenty of examples of how not to look after too much work, or just bad work. But there are also people all around us who have had great work and we don't notice them at all. Or we scrutinise certain women looking for signs of work, because they look so great and we can't quite decide whether it's entirely natural and just good genes and plenty of water, or whether it's very expensive but subtle surgery. Which is exactly the way it should be. A facelift or fillers should not announce themselves.

We only notice the bad ones. To be fair, in most of those famous cases it's just that they simply didn't quit while they were ahead. They probably looked amazing after the first one or two tweakments. They should have stopped at looking refreshed and been happy with that. It should have been enough to look good for 55 or 65. But no. They wanted to look 25, which is of course impossible. So now they just look bloated and weird and ridiculous, like a rubber mask.

Hi… I wanted to ask that too if you are okay to share , the website has a price list , but I get a bit put off by vague prices “starting from 16k ”… everything else looked reassuring to me ( including some saying they were rejected for surgery which imo is a good sign)…thank you .

What a bizarre comment.

Not bizarre , I’ve seen people come back from abroad with hideous infections and expect the NHS to sort it out.

Theresabatinmykitchen · 21/10/2025 17:23

I’m putting this on my watch list, really want a lower face and neck lift, not sure where to start with research, where to go, best surgeons etc, what type of face lift, now deep plane seems to be all the rage though not sure how it differs from a normal face lift! If you feel you could share your experience OP that would be really appreciated! So want my sharp jawline back and rid of this turkey neck!

How about telling people off for going skiiing, mountaineering or on a holiday abroad in general, all unnecessary risky activities that might result in injuries the nhs might have to fix . Go tell them to stay at home and play chess instead , for the sake of nhs 😆

With a deep plane lift, the muscles are stitched back in their original position. That type of facelift takes longer to do, lasts longer, looks better and therefore costs a lot more. It is the gold standard of facelifts.

Theresabatinmykitchen · 21/10/2025 17:37

Sounds great, probably above my budget I suspect unfortunately.

£17-30k apparently depending on where it’s done and who does it. Guess I’ll have to do with a basic hold up the surplus skin and trim off the excess!
