Vinted noob question

Holluschickie · 17/10/2025 07:06

I bought a gorgeous tweed jacket on Vinted two weeks ago. The first time I have used Vinted.
The seller sent it promptly, but now it's stuck with Evri. I asked the seller to check with Evri but she had no luck and says I just have to wait. Apparently several of her packages are stuck.
Is this a usual thing? Anything I can do?
I particularly wanted to wear it for a trip.

Sometimes this happens. It’s not the seller’s fault. If they lose it you can claim the money back. It’s very fucking annoying.

damekindness · 17/10/2025 08:18

As a buyer I’ve had three vinted evri parcels delayed by at least a week in the last couple of weeks - and one not arrived at all. The tracker shows them pinging between the delivery hub and expecting to deliver to parcel shop then back to the delivery hub for around a week before finally getting delivered. You have to wait a month before claiming money back if it’s lost and even then it’s a two day window

Punkkatkitty · 17/10/2025 08:21

Yeah I sell a lot on vinted and this is a major issue at the minute. I’ve 3 parcels sent that are stuck in limbo and 2 I have bought the same. Literally not a thing anyone can do other than wait for the 25 day window to pass and then you get your money back and so does the seller.

Holluschickie · 17/10/2025 08:24

Thanks all! I have never had anything lost by Evri so am baffled by this.
I only paid £26, but still so annoying. Has put me off Vinted now. I was already so worried about being scammed.

I’ve had buying and selling problems with Evri over the last three weeks. It’s so annoying, parcels bounce about for days(weeks sometimes). It’s not just vinted parcels, it’s different retailers. If you’ve had the dispatch notification from vinted, it’s not the sellers fault and isn’t a scam.

SpiralSister · 17/10/2025 08:30

Evri. Famously crap. Bewildered that anyone would choose to use them, frankly.

I don’t buy if Evri is the only option offered - sellers often have another option, or will use one if you ask.

ThatNattyPlayer · 17/10/2025 08:31

Vinted is great, only ever had 1 issue which was the couriers fault not the sellers
Experienced some lovely genuine sellers and some bargains

Punkkatkitty · 17/10/2025 08:31

It’s definitely an evri issue and not vinted as all the other postal options on vinted like yodel and Royal Mail are working fine.

AllAboutTheWrinkles · 17/10/2025 08:32

Also, may be wrong here, but I think with vinted it’s the buyer that has the contract with Evri as you bought and sent the postage label, so action is up to you. Just be alert to any timings you need for action.

Oh yes, I know it's not the sellers fault.
She has a five star rating, if that means anything.
I should ask for something other than Evri next time.

I’ve sent a parcel and it’s taking ages to arrive too. I think mine was via inpost. There’s a lot of delays at the moment with various couriers around the country. Don’t let it put you off. The seller did their bit by sending it, it’s not a scam and you’re covered if it does get lost.

DaphneduM · 17/10/2025 08:37

Previously I've had issues with using Evri on Vinted - both delays and things being delivered to the wrong address. So very annoying and I feel your pain. If it's offered, for the extra few pennies I always use Royal Mail tracked - 100% delivery - superb!

stanleycups · 17/10/2025 08:37

I once had something stuck for a good few weeks. Do you have any kind of code that you can try and track it online?

botheredandbewilderedagain · 17/10/2025 08:43

Oh dear, not great news as I bought two items on Vinted yesterday.

TheCaribbeanIsCallingMe · 17/10/2025 08:48

I buy and sell LOADS on Vinted. Have only had this problem once, with some sandals I am waiting on. They've been stuck now for weeks, tbh, I don't think they will ever arrive.

5 stars does very much mean something - it means your seller has a fantastic record on Vinted - as have I. Courier issues are beyond our control.

henlake7 · 17/10/2025 09:53

yup, its annoying. Im currently waiting for a lovely cardigan that will probably never turn up.😒
Its def an Evri issue (although Inpost arent any better. They recently had technical issues that meant parcels were being mislabeled and not tracked properly).
Ive lost a couple of things so far and TBF if you bring the issue up with Vinted at the correct time they do give you your money back.

psuedocream3 · 17/10/2025 10:11

Its an Evri issue, Evri and DHL had a merger recently thats upset the whole process, and as such this has caused nationwide issues with deliveries. Around here, parcels are being delivered to wrong addresses constantly and getting lost, I hear it's similar all over the UK, and unfortunately will only get worse as we are approaching Christmas. i would avoid using at all costs.

As a buyer you are fully protected, let Vinted know it hasn't shown up, they will give it a time limit, and if it's not delievered within that time limit, they will refund. I imagine that it will cause lots of issues for sellers having to refund items, that later get delivered so they lose the item and the money, and buyers get the item and not have to pay.

GiddyDog · 17/10/2025 10:19

I had 2 vinted parcels stuck with Evri last week, one was 'out for delivery ' 6 days in a row then bouncing back to the depot, the other said out for delivery then nothing for 5 days. I'd resigned myself to waiting it out then claiming both as lost when they turned up on the same day.
Nothing the seller can control unfortunately but in 3 years of buying and selling on vinted I've only ever had one purchase that didn't turn up eventually and if that happens you will get your money back.

Evri are crap. But if they fail to deliver you will get your money back.

if Evri is the only shipping option that Vinted allows then you have a point.
if it is not, then your reaction is illogical hysteria

Evri, although improved from its MyHermes days, is still the worst of the national couriers.

As this is the first time I am using Vinted, I didn't realise Royal Mail was an option. Will know next time.

I am not a big shopper- buy maybe 6 items a year- so have never had anything lost by Evri.

Ive had so many issues with Evri, not vinted items but normal retailers, ones lost for weeks, not turning up etc... they are a nightmare!

FeckedInFrance · 17/10/2025 11:05

I’m quite friendly with my Evri delivery lady. The other week she collected a rather large parcel from us and commented about it taking up too much room in her dining room. I enquired why would it be going to her dining room, wrongly assuming it would go straight to the depot. Apparently after they finish shift they go home, they aren’t paid to go back to depot and they take the parcels, collected and undelivered, back to their homes. In this instance she wasn’t on duty for another 5 days so our parcel was going to sit in her dining room for the next 5 days until she was on paid shift again.

And we wonder why they sometimes takes ages to deliver, well you have it there!!

nomas · 17/10/2025 11:10

I've always had my Vinted Evri deliveries really quickly. It's unusual for someone to have so many stuck. Does she live very rurally or something?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/10/2025 12:42

I buy loa DS (too much) from QVC and unless it's a tiny item like earrings (Royal Mail) it'll be Evri. P&P with QVC is a lot but I have never had any problems with Evri. Our regular Evri driver is excellent
I've probably hexed myself now !

I do buy from eBay but not tried Vinted
