I think we should have a trend of naked nails personally

MaplePumpkin · 15/10/2025 12:50

I find Avon ones to be really good!

Bladderpool · 15/10/2025 12:52

Nails Inc all the way, never chips or dulls. Individual bottles are expensive at about £11 each but they do good sets. My current favourite is the gingerbread house, five warm and bold colours and a top coat for about £30.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 15/10/2025 14:21

opi is the best

Whichever you choose, a clear top coat helps to keep it in place for longer. Poundshop do one that does the job, apply after a couple of coats of polish. The nail polish is fine too, no need to spend a fortune.

ibuprofenhead · 15/10/2025 14:27

OPI infinite shine. Get the base coat (1) and the top coat (3) and use two coats of whatever varnish you like. Doesn’t have to be an OPI one. This lasts on me for a week.

pontipinemum · 15/10/2025 14:28

I am awful at keeping nail varnish on. I don't bite my nails, but I 'play' with them. When I really want it to stay reasonably well. I use maybelline super stay. I use the primer, the colour, then the top coat. I usually don't have the patience for it. But it last for 5+ days on me which really is saying something.

Dandeliontea123 · 15/10/2025 15:02

Another vote for OPI

lovecookiedough · 15/10/2025 15:04

Dior and Chanel nail varnish look and last the best, pricey but still cheaper than gel every 2-3 weeks

CharlieKirkRIP · 15/10/2025 15:13

Mavala.

caffelatte100 · 15/10/2025 16:04

Yeah - Opi Infinite Shine - the three steps. I use these for colour.

I also use the Manicurist active range - these give a good natural polished groomed look whilst strengthening the nails etc and these last about 10 days or so and only take a few mins to apply with quick drying time.

TheCaribbeanIsCallingMe · 15/10/2025 16:20

Get a gel UV machine. I do my own at home and they last at least 2 weeks. I got a travel sized lamp, it's the size of a cigarette packet, so you can take on holiday, just in case one chips.

murasaki · 15/10/2025 16:21

I find nailberry pretty good.

Merseymum1980 · 15/10/2025 16:27

They all sound great.
I was finding the salon deer and I hate when they use the drill on me x

Lily and fox nail wraps you don't need a lamp or anything but they usually last me about 10-14 days with a top coat.

TabbyMcTats · 15/10/2025 16:33

Don’t bother with manucurist, cost me a bomb to buy the kit and they’re rubbish. OPI much better staying power

SanFairyAnnie · 15/10/2025 16:37

My perfect varnish would be one that didn't dry out my nails.

mjuser · 15/10/2025 16:48

Rimmel Super Gel. 2 coats and a top coat of the step 2 and you'll have to literally chisel it to get it to chip off. Boring colours though.

Sheridanbucket · 15/10/2025 16:52

Dior is good. It lasts and lasts.

lcakethereforeIam · 15/10/2025 16:52

There was a shop at Trentham Gardens that had a good selection of OPI for £4.99. I had to walk away but they had a wide selection. Nails Inc. always seem to be advertising a sale.

80smonster · 15/10/2025 16:58

I use nails inc, I hate gel and shellac, the polish lasts well for a week, if you use a base and top coat. There are loads of colours too.

Chanel is really good, but to be honest, I find the £1.50 Primark nail polish almost as good. I also use Orly Bonder rubberized basecoat and a top coat and find that really helps with staying power

Sagaciously · 15/10/2025 17:03

I use Essie. With a base coat and top coat, they last at least 10 days. I usually re-do only because of the gap at the base.

Glittertwins · 15/10/2025 17:27

I have a lot of Chanel and Dior but the Christian Louboutin lasts better than them. The tips of mine always chip because I’m using a computer keyboard all day. I think I need to change my typing style!
