I’m dipping my toe into Korean beauty and thinking of buying one of the advent calendars. Can those ‘in the know’ on here advise as to which one they think is best please? I’d really appreciate some advice. Thanks.

These are the ones listed on beauty detective - https://beauty-detective.com/best-k-beauty-advent-calendars-2025/

Same as others if I’d to pick one it would be the Stylevana as it has the most products I’d use, but I’m curious to see the Style Korean one (if they do it this year).

Best K-Beauty Advent Calendars 2025

K-Beauty has been booming in recent years, with more and more Korean brands now available at UK retailers. To celebrate the trend, I’ve put together a list of the best K-beauty advent calendars 2025. Stylevana Advent Calendar 2025 Price: £155/€179/$209...

Ah it was Elle. I think it came down to £89 ot something but it's back to £130. I'll keep an eye.

I've been stalking Elle and the lowest its been is £109. You can still get it for £109 via this link here

Just to add - I also like reading this thread. Thanks to those that post and share. Theres a lot of positivity. I don’t think anyone should ever feel guilty for treating themselves to something they love and enjoy - whether it be as a much needed distraction, to help with grief (hugs to everyone battling through it), or just because you love to have badass glowing skin. Life is short, enjoy the small things that spark joy. Who can’t not be excited by a pretty box with lots of secret drawers with goodies in?!

MrsBnow12 · 10/10/2025 07:39

Another sending love to those grieving and those who use this board to help their mental health as an escape from work and other things x

I’m so sorry to hear about your mum @Keffert. It’s one of the hardest things in the world to cope with and I think things like the first Christmas without a loved one is so difficult 😞

I have an £85 off £200 spend voucher on Tiktok and want to buy an advent.
My options are: Debenhams, ok beauty, the beauty crop and beauty Bay.
I might be able to get 2, or top up to £200 with some other bits but I'm keen to hear thoughts about the above. 🙏

For me, it would easily be OK Beauty and that's the one I've gone for. It depends what you're looking for but I felt that one was a good mix of classic brands, new brands, and decent sizes.

Thanks for the new thread @BakeOffRewatch

in response to the comment at the end of the last thread about a lack of deliberation by people buying the calendars this year, I really don’t think that’s been the case at all this year. I’ve only been on these threads for four or five years, but think people have given just as much thought to what they’re buying as in past years. In my case, I made a very long list in August of all the calendars I could find from last year and then crossed them off or added them to my shortlist as the contents were revealed this year, and then I made my purchases based on what I really wanted and the number of items I wouldn’t use. My only impulse purchase has been PDM, but as far as I’m aware, this is the first year they’ve released a calendar, and I love all their fragrances.

The comment wasn't directed at everyone, but was a general comment on the discussions on the thread. I'm not going to trawl back over the years, but I suspect if you did there would be very few people buying more than three calendars, and at this point in October most people would have fewer.

All I'm saying is, I understand the dopamine hit of spending, but it's a bit of a cheap thrill and I suspect some people will be sitting in the new year wondering why on earth they bought some of this stuff. It's your money though.

pinkchampagne1 · 10/10/2025 08:07

If anyone is tempted by the Face the Future beauty box, you now get a free bundle worth £90 added if you purchase. I am tempted but must resist! 😆

Thank you so much for this. I've obviously been making the numbers up in my head, but I knew it had been at a better price and had a 9 at the end.

Morning all, have been lurking since the end of the summer but just wanted to pop out and say how much I love the advent calendar chat, a bit of light hearted relief and an escape from everyday life, have really enjoy all the beauty intelligence that is shared.

I ordered my first ever fragrance calendar yesterday, Harvey Nics, and it’s arriving this morning (despite not paying for next day delivery), I’m very excited! Was never a perfume wearer but have got into scent this past few months.

Sending hugs to everyone who needs them x

Can anyone verify the site Luxplus? I’m still stalking the Lumene calendar and hoping just to bag it as a rip-open-now extra at the best price. Luxplus has one for £50ish, it actually looks like an older design so might query whether products are still in date. That aside, there are other products on there I’m tempted by. Apparently a membership model so subscription to get the cheap prices, but free membership for 14 days.https://www.luxplus.co.uk/product/lumene-gaveaeske-advent-calender-310-g

Just been reading back a bit and sending hugs to @JoRaRaRa and @pinkchampagne1 and anyone else in need.
I lost my mum very suddenly at the beginning of the year. There is definitely an element of grief/distraction spending for me, as well as fuck it spending. She was healthy, and then one day she wasn’t and then just a short time later she had died. Just makes me think that although I will continue to be generally careful with money a few splurges on things I want if I can afford them are ok. Also she had bought me my first spendy advent calendar after we saw them whilst Christmas shopping together last year and I had said how much I wanted it and how beautiful it was but couldn’t justify it so there are some nice memories wrapped up in as well.

I generally live a very quiet and simple life and am not at all high maintenance beauty wise but I am an absolute sucker for skin products that smell and feel nice. I’m the same with drinks tbh, just using a nice glass or mug makes everyday feel more special and makes me happy!

Last thing if anyone sees an empty dipytique box being sold pleeease let me know because it is so beautiful and I mainly covet it for the box so would consider buying that for a diy next year.

I’m so sorry to read about your mum, that sounds so difficult for you 😞 She sounded like such a lovely lady who really enjoyed making you happy 🩷 Have you treated yourself to an advent calendar this year? (sorry if you've mentioned it and I've missed it) I really hope you have, it sounds like your mum would totally approve of you having a splurge on yourself ✨

Woke up to an email today informing me my fenwick advent calendar, which I'd purchased on next day delivery, is delayed. And they won't leave it when it does arrive, needs to be signed for, so hoping it will come tomorrow. A bit of a disappointment, and I'll be contacting Fenwick to get the £8 next day delivery charge refunded.

I'm the same really, I do wear perfume, but I wasn't wearing it every day when wfh, now I am. I only had a few bottles because I'd just get one in the Christmas sales, maybe one for Christmas from my mum too if I was running low. I feel like I need to get a proper perfume collection. I actually bought the Harrods one for my mum but then she wanted the great gatsby tickets for her bday instead so now I've got it. I'm hoping my HN one arrives today too 🤞 although I've woken up with a cold so not sure how well I'll be able to smell them 😕

That's so annoying! Why offer next day if they can't commit to it? 😕

Worse than that its affecting my HN delivery too- apparently there is a problem with the local DPD depot. This country is getting worse and worse....

Anyone in the greater manchester area reliant on DPD, beware...

I bought the Flannels men's fragrance box on pre order a couple of weeks ago as a gift. They were supposed to send out from this week but I had an email to say it was delayed. I think that's Flannels rather than the delivery service though.

IlovePond · 10/10/2025 08:35

Sorry to hear about your mum @Keffert - it’s such a dreadful shock when to lose a loved one unexpectedly. Be especially kind to yourself as the anniversary approaches.

OvaHere · 10/10/2025 08:38

Email just arrived from Liberty. They are doing a rewards week again 13 -19th Oct. If anyone can find that info page from last time we should be able to get an idea of what's in it.

Maybe some discounts/gwp might stack with the BAC?

Found it but the promotion T&Cs page ends at the current £100 off £300 promotion so no info about next week.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s offered their messages of love, support and condolences, I've really appreciated it 🩷 It’s quite sad the amount of us going through grief, illness, or just tough times right now. It really does put things into perspective, we never truly know what’s going on behind the scenes for people.

For some, the advent calendars are about the products or being money smart and making savings, for others it’s a bit of escapism, something to look forward to, or a way to lift their mood when things aren’t easy. There’s no right or wrong reason, everyone has their own.

Thank you @Seahorses and anyone rlsr who said they liked my hbeauty review 💕 I'm 100% sure I only managed to have such a great time because someone else on here gave me tips such as arrive early, decide what I want before going, buy it and get into the freebie queue quickly, then enjoy the masterclasses etc. Although I also think hbeauty in metrocentre seemed to manage the queues really well, although I did go on the Sunday, I'm sure it would've been busier on the Saturday. I’m also sure my husband only agreed to take me because I’m grieving, I may not be so lucky next time 🤣

I went to a gorgeous Christmas sparkle event last night with my mum and it's really got me into the Christmas mood. I treated myself to an expensive (for me) bauble and a luxury hot chocolate. I also did some taste testing on christmas pork pie variations and mince pie variations. I bought some brandy butter mince pies, they were delish. I was too full to try the cheese. I have to laugh at the amount of calories I likely consumed in the space of 10 mins and the fact that I likely ate 3 mince pies in that time 😳🤣 I had a right sugar rush when looking at the massive lemax set up they had there.

It's just over 7 weeks until Christmas! Exciting!! 🎅🎄🎁

IlovePond · 10/10/2025 08:48

@OvaHere I hope not! I cracked and bought the Liberty a/c a few days ago as my latest BD credit had landed, (giving me a whole £60 of my own money as credit!)

I have been second-guessing this decision ever since, so I will kick myself very very hard indeed if there’s a discount🙀

(I had a nasty moment yesterday when I saw the £100 off a £300 spend at Liberty, but it doesn’t stack with the a/c!)

Did you pay for next day with HN too? My HNF is at my local dpd depot but I don't think I'll get it today. I would've thought it would already be on a van if it could be delivered today. I don't mind really but if it comes tomorrow my husband will see it 🙈🤣 I'm not sure what his reaction will be.

Re the Korean advent calendars there is yesstyle, Yepoda, Stylevana, Sukoshi mart, Sylvan glow and more. There are lots of unboxings on tiktok for the above. I really do like Sylvan glow but I can't find any discount codes for it. Stylevana and yesstyle both have influencer discounts you can use on them. Previously Yesstyle has been notoriously hard to get a hold of, gets released in drops and at 3am but they are shipping to fewer countries this year so that might make it easier to get one. It's the makeup I find unappealing which is why I prefer Sylvan glow as the colours are more in line with what I would use. I think i might just stock to edits.

@viccabelle I picked up last years beauty crop advent for £44 from tiktok at the start of these threads. I started opening it at the beginning of October and am enjoying it, so for it is heavy on primers and I will regift some as I don't use them day to day. I have received a full sized eyeshadow palette and was impressed with the colour pay off, very usable shades. This years has gone down to just under £70 at times on tiktok and looks to be either a good introduction to beautycrop products if you haven't used them before or a good way of stocking up on their most popular products if you have.

Funnily enough I was thinking of you knowing you wanted it. Glad you bought it anyway. Chances are nothing will stack with the AC but even if it does at some point we have to make a decision on the BAC we want or risk missing out.
