Thanks @2025istheyeari - I am so pleased that I managed to justify its purchase - just looking at that little cardboard Liberty house made me so happy today when I got it out to fill those drawers!

I can’t wait until December to put it on display so I have decided that it’s coming out of its box to sit in the front room in November. I’ll put the DIY refilled Shiseido next to it, just in case DH wants to squeeze any tiny surprises into any of its drawers. (It’s not quite the same when you’ve bought everything, and also filled the box, so it would be nice if he could add some little, cute, cheap things too!)

Re: Selling

I did contemplate going back to the maker of the very low offer on the perfume with a counter-offer, but every time I do that, the buyer disappears! I had already made sure that mine was the cheapest on offer in an overcrowded market, but still got low-balled!

I’ll be happy if the other two sell - it would make me feel a tiny bit better about my extravagance!

I understand why people complain if an a/c isn’t in perfect condition - they are expensive and are also going to be on display for weeks, plus some people buy them as gifts.

Given the huge profits these companies make from us, I think offering a small discount or a free return/exchange is a reasonable solution.

When perfume arrives broken and you’ve sent pictures, I do think a company should just apologise and do a no-quibble partial refund or offer a free replacement of the item. Customer goodwill is priceless and that’s what a lot of these companies do not realise.

For example, I once bought an expensive lip product from HN in a fit of madness, but it arrived open and squashed. I sent pictures and they only had my word that it had arrived like that but I got a full refund and an unreserved apology. The result: I would buy from HN again.

Ditto: H&B - their CS is excellent.

And I think mentioning it makes them tighten their QA, and the CS time and spend incentivises them to stop it happening. These products are planned and prepped a year in advance. The box is as much of what the product is. I might not raise it, but I’m glad other people do.

Exactly, when people have spent a lot of money on it, it should arrive perfect, not like it's fallen off the back of a lorry or second hand from a bargain basement. I like to display mine, not that I have any visitors 🤣

Oh this is beautiful. I've been coveting this holiday collection. I struggle to believe it's only going to be £300 though. The eyeshadow, highlighter and lipstick cost almost that.

It's beautiful but some of the sizes will make the tatcha in harrods appear huge 🤣 2ml eye cream! 😱 It'll be perfect for holidays though.

It's an interesting choice to put a foundation in it. Narrows the audience somewhat to those who are whatever shade 010 is.

Yeah, very strange indeed, a mascara would've been a better option

If they could only allow me to spend that on food, I'd be happy to spend that on a lot of products
