Wide leg jeans recommendations

So I'm stepping away from mom Jean to wide legged and I need ones that are super high waisted, can almost skirt over lower belly rather than cling to it and are good quality denim!

Please let me know if you've encountered a jean such as this!🩷

Levi’s XL straight are such a nice fit and have a bit of stretch to them

Another vote for Fatface. The denim is lovely quality and they wash well. Good bit of stretch around waist too.

I wear them either with chunky ankle boots or with Doc Marten style brogues. I tend to wear woolly socks with the brogues but woolly tights would also work well in colder weather.

What is the length like on these? They look slightly short on the model and I’m 5ft 8 so trying to gauge what they look like as they look great on the pic.

Recommend River Island for jeans this year. I got the new look adalae ones last year and liked them, but ordered another pair recently and the quality was v poor (in fact all the new look clothing quality seems to have gone downhill, has anyone else found this?)

Sorry to be negative about M&S (as I’d like them to do well) but I was really disappointed in their wide leg jeans. They did look good at first but they turned saggy and generally worn out looking far sooner than they should have done. When I checked the label, they were only about 75% cotton so there’s a lesson learned for next time.

I'm 5'7" and they are perfect. I only wear flat shoes BTW.

I have the Levis ribcage wide leg and I really like them. I have them in a worn out looking blue (polar blue or something) and a dark blue.
I sized down in them to get a good fit on the waist. I'd normally be a 30 waist (for example in Salsa jeans) but I got a 28 in the Levis.

If you are happy to splurge a bit I’ve just got some really fab ones from Bellerose. Super high waisted, 100% cotton, give me a flat tummy (when it’s not actually flat!).

I absolutely love my high rise wide leg jeans from Mint Velvet, a little on the pricey side but well worth it. I have the patch pocket jeans in dark blue denim from Autumn/Winter. I find there jeans fit well on the waist & hips and the wide leg is not ridiculously wide.

Ah thank you. I like those but just concerned about the front pockets on my pear shaped body, not sure if it will accentuate the area!! They have got lots of brown ones though so lots of choice which is great 👍🏻.

And my next comment didn’t post! I haven’t thought about that with the pockets, I’ll have to check next time I wear them. I hope it doesn’t accentuate the area because they’re my favourite trousers at the moment!

Keep us posted! It’s only because I’ve recently been looking into what pear shapes can and can’t wear. I bought some linen trousers from M&S in the summer but then realised the pockets going all the way down the outside of the hip/thigh area just screamed looked at my hips and lower body!! 🤣. Am sure if you pair with a light/bright or detailed top then the emphasis would shift 👍🏻.

I have just bought these and love them. I am a slim apple and they are perfect on me. I tried the ribcage Levis that were recommended on here but had the usual problem with the waist fitting but the jeans being massive on the hips and bum. I was wondering what the ratio is of "jeans tried" on to "jeans purchased" is and think in my case it must be about 30:1.
