@JoRaRaRa did you notice if they had any of the £250 calendars?

LoveLabradors · 06/10/2025 08:55

@JoRaRaRa yes a Sephora has recently opened at Meadowhall 😊

Oh brilliant 😍 I'll have to take a trip. I'll be happy if they open a hbeauty there then and have them both in the same place. We should campaign for it 🤣

Yes they did and they had it on display 😍 They had maybe about 8 of them left.

Can second chantecaille mascara but out of price range for what it is.

LIB is out £150 though, compared to GB and OK seems overpriced. But the contents do not work for me at all so maybe I'm completely wrong but I'm thinking reduced price it it's future.

I agree, seems overpriced and I think there's better, cheaper ACs. Saying that though, I'm sure some people will love it and want to use everything ☺️ it wouldn't surprise me if it does get reduced but I guess it depends on how many they've made.

I’m going to phone my local store - I really feel I want one now. I should have ordered online.

I think you have encouraged ne!! Dud you get the hair and body one?

It is really nice, but the sizes are quite small so it's more of a small taste of luxury then something that's going to last. I've got all 3 now, the fragrance, beauty and hair&body calendar that I picked up yesterday. I've also bought the Harrods chocolate bear one, so I'm well and truly harrods up this year 🙈🤣🐻

I'm very proud of myself for not succumbing to the Astrid & Miyu gold jewellery AC. I was really tempted though.

That is stunning though 😍 and the pieces are lovely ❤️

I’m ok with small tastes of luxury while bank rolling DC !

IlovePond · 06/10/2025 14:17

@JoRaRaRa - thanks for your review and the pics.

I am wishing I had gone to my nearest event now, but the 3 hour round trip and toll charges gave me pause.

I will definitely go if they do another one next year in the run up to Xmas. I would definitely have bought the H&B Harrods calendar with a 10% discount.

2025istheyeari · 06/10/2025 18:12

After being definite about John Lewis, the lack of voucher etc made me relook and actually there were 3 items I really wanted. I’ve been super lucky and just got them on a bundle deal on Vinted for what I think is a great price- the mascara, Le Labo and Medik8, super pleased, saved a load of money and now I’m officially done! Thanks for all the advice!

OvaHere · 06/10/2025 18:14

Miss Boux unboxed LiB. Another one that is more appealing when watched. It's nicer than I thought.

John Lewis has really grown on me. It didn’t excite me when the contents were announced but it actually has the most products I’ll definitely use.

LiB is a “maybe if it’s reduced to £79 again on TikTok” for me.

I had this down as a definite for me, but now I'm not so sure. Part of that is probably because I've just done a recce of my stash and I'm actually stumped to say what it is I actually felt I needed. Those 'Monday' hair dupes are putting me off now as they are everywhere for about £3

Have to say that I swing wildly between "Ooh. Bargain!" And "Bloody hell Rainbow, you don't need any more stuff. Where will you put it?"

We started the first of our 12 day Squishmallow Halloween advents today, so maybe that's keeping me occupied..

OvaHere · 06/10/2025 18:37

@RainbowZebraWarrior totally agree. I won't be buying it for similar reasons but I did quite enjoy the unboxing. I was torn between being impressed with getting a massive shampoo, conditioner and mask in one box and thinking that the waste of plastic on that packaging is scandalous. 😁

OvaHere · 06/10/2025 18:38

Unless the brand do refills of course. They really should do with that design.

AzureRobin · 06/10/2025 19:05

Has anyone seen what the contents of the M&s advent are this year?

Thelifeofawife · 06/10/2025 19:26

Has anyone tried the Davines all in one milk from the Harrods BAC, and if so, is it any good?
I need to read up on everything because I assumed it was for the face but it’s for hair 😅

I’m really pleased with my BAC purchases so far.

Like @JoRaRaRa I’ve also splurged on Vinted purchases as well using my earnings. Though the plan was to use that money towards this years BAC’s

I love it. In fact I just posted about it in the chat thread.

JoRaRaRa · 06/10/2025 19:49

I think the Lib BAC looks better on the unboxing than it did just reading on online. I still won't be getting it though. But did anyone else hear at the end that she's got more unboxings to come? Exciting!!!

Can anyone pm me which door initio side effect perfume and the Medik8 night cream come from in the JL calendar please if possible?

@2025istheyeari how much did you pay for those 3 items? I want to try to get the mascara, but to use straight away not for my ac.

@Thelifeofawife this thread makes me feel so much better about spending all my earnings, it seems none of us have any self control 🤣 The davines website says 'Our best-selling multi-functional leave-in treatment milk controls frizz, hydrates, protects, and softens, leaving hair shiny and silky. This hydrating milk conditioning spray tames and detangles for a smooth, naturally shiny look. Formulated with Roucou oil, rich in beta-carotene and natural antioxidants, it also contains deeply moisturizing provitamin B5 and a functional amino complex that provides resistance to stress and heat protection up to 230°. Ideal for fine to medium hair, this leave-in conditioner spray provides hydration for coarse hair. Enjoy your best hair with its delightful, long-lasting sensory scent.' - I'm looking forward to trying it 😍

@OvaHere do you know if the chantecaille mascara is a a tubing formulation? I be really interested in which mascaras you rate, I have such a problem finding ones which don't smudge it's bizarre how badly most do on me! Currently the only one I've found which works ok is the elf tubing one (green and black tube) but it dries out so quickly and I do find it a little crispy on my eyelashes

Do you know why yours are smudging? The hourglass mascaras (I’ve got both) don’t smudge on me.

@JoRaRaRa £80 for all 3 including postage which I thought was good?
I love the ravines milk and it smells amazing, was in last years Liberty.

welshgirl666 · 06/10/2025 20:29

Finally decided to get the asos beauty calendar but does anyone know if it usually gets reduced in price or if there is a discount code I can use to reduce the price a bit? Thanks

I don't think the Chantecaille one is tubing but it does have some sort of infused peptide.

Ones I have open currently

Tarte Tartlette tubing mascara. I have the black and brown version in minis. I find this is a really solid formula and doesn't budge on me. Not difficult to remove either. I also have the XL version that I think is supposed to create a longer, fuller effect but I haven't opened that yet.

Kosas Soulgazer - this isn't a tubing one as far as I can tell. It's a peptide one like the Chantecaille. I've got a mini of this one and like it. Considering it isn't a tubing one I've had no issues with panda eyes and I think it might make my lashes look a tad thick than the Tarte - we are talking a miniscule amount though because I don't have a lot to work with.

Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash - I've got the full size in Burnt Umber. Not tubing. The colour of this is lovely and again for a non tubing one it hasn't smudged. It's a very natural look but not my favourite because natural on my lashes means they don't look much different. I think if you have decent lashes in the first place this would be really lovely.

Charlotte Tilbury Push Up Lashes Mini - Don't think this is tubing. Not a fan - was expecting good things from this but it ended up with bad smudgy eyes. Can't bring myself to bin it yet as I haven't had it that long but I doubt I'll use again.

Recently binned - Sweed mascara, this was terrible for smudging. Elf mascara - non tubing - can't remember exactly which one this was but it wasn't good.
