@JoRaRaRa £80 for all 3 including postage which I thought was good?
I love the ravines milk and it smells amazing, was in last years Liberty.

That's a great saving, all 3 are worth £186 all together 😍

Evergreen21 · 06/10/2025 20:37

@welshgirl666 the ASOS calendar did get reduced last year. I have double checked and last year I bought it on the 21st October for £66.50 with a discount code that was posted on here. I am waiting to see if it gets discounted again as I already have a few calendars.

JoRaRaRa · 06/10/2025 20:45

@OvaHere Charlotte tilbury smudged on me too, such a disappointment 😔 and givenchy, nars and bare minerals.

I'm hoping the Laura mercier and Lisa eldridge ones in my ACs don't smudge 🤞 I'm currently using estée lauder, hourglass and lancome mascaras and not having any issues with any of them ☺️

The LE one from SNK is the same one I have just in Black so I'm expecting that to be fine. It doesn't give me much lift or volume though.

MidnightMeltdown · 06/10/2025 20:53

@OvaHereI had the same problem with the Charlotte Tilbury mascara, I didn’t like it at all. It just seemed to slide off my lashes. Using a Sweed one at moment though and really like it!

That’s what I thought too! And saved me from buying the whole calendar, as I’ve read more I’m less interested in the rest. I’ve also developed perioral dermatitis so need to be really careful about what I use.
obviously I meant Davines oil in my pp too!!

Thelifeofawife · 06/10/2025 21:13

I might give the Davines a go then. I am also keeping the Larry King one to try (I think that was from JL)

I have had so many issues with mascaras, I get terrible panda eyes because it gets so hot in my office at work. I think the extra moisture I’m layering on my face with my new skincare routine is adding to the issue. I tried adding a little powder under my eyes to reduce the issue but that just made my fine lines look worse, so I went too long not wearing any mascara.

I’m currently using Glossier lash slick which is an improvement, but doesn’t really give my lashes a wow factor. Fine for day to day but when I’ve gone on nights out I’ve used that and layered it with my old faithful Rimmel day2night, and together they seem to be okay (no panda eyes)

Isabelle70 · 06/10/2025 21:21

@JoRaRaRa @Thelifeofawife I have been using the Davines milk since last year and really like it, feels really light. The small size I originally had seemed to get blocked so I would make sure to give it a good shake on each use.

Isabelle70 · 06/10/2025 21:23

Has anyone seen any mask calendars? I will open Harrods fragrance every other day so another 12 day will have me covered to Christmas.

There's this one. It's on Boots 3 for 2. They did have it on offer for £19 the other week but it sold out so fast and when it did come back it was full price again.

Bubble T have a 12 day mask one too

I remember last year LF did a mask set as part of their xmas beauty box collection. I'm keeping an eye out for that again

@OvaHere thank you so much that's really helpful. I may try and pick up a Lisa E kitten lash as that sounds promising. I've actually been religiously applying lash serum for about a year now so have fairly decent lashes (usually short and stubby!). I also found sweed smudged so badly on me and all of the benefit ones. Have you tried Lancôme monsiur Big? Heard good things about that but don't want to buy yet another to be disappointed..I prefer tubing as the waterproof formulas just feel so dry and crispy once applied

@BakeOffRewatch thank you - sadly the hourglass (can't remember which one) smudged on me also

  • I have no idea why I have such a problem with transfer as my skin isn't oily it's definitely more dry. It so odd -
I don't think I touch my eyes that much either 🤷‍♀️.. it's annoying as I end up just not wearing mascara at all and definitely could do with wearing it 😂
Giftwithpurchase · 06/10/2025 21:38

@Thelifeofawife interesting about lash slick .. I've also been eyeing up that one - natural day to day is what I'm after

BlueLimes · 06/10/2025 21:53

I haven’t rated any of the Charlotte Tilbury products I’ve tried: lipstick, eyeshadows, brow thingy or the (un) magic cream. All v gimmicky imo

OvaHere · 06/10/2025 22:27

@Giftwithpurchase I haven't tried any Lancome yet. There is one in the xmas beauty bag I got so that will get tried at some point. I don't think it's the one you mention though.

OvaHere · 06/10/2025 22:39

I also don't have oily skin but I think my issue with many mascaras is a combination of a few things. Hooded eyes, lashes that don't curl up, if anything they point down (I've had success with lash perming before but I loathe the process so don't do it often). I'm also prone to watery eyes if it's sunny, cold or windy and I think I blink a lot.

Sorry if already posted (have skimmed back a page or so and cannot see it) but content details of M&S are now up. I had it for the first time last year and really liked it, but not sure about this year at first glance. https://www.marksandspencer.com/the-beauty-advent-calender-2025/p/hbp60741804

No, definitely out for me now the full contents are listed. Too many useless hair things and too samey. Will be looking out for any discounted ones for my second calendar. It would also be nice if M&S could spell calendar!

The typo is very poor. Wonder how long it will take them to correct it.

Onlycoffee · 06/10/2025 23:01

Mascaras are a nightmare!
I love Lancôme Hypnôse but it always smudges on my twenty something DD

My old faithful is L'Oréal million lashes couture. Doesn't smudge on me, washes off with micellar water and doesn't irritate my eyes.

MrsBnow12 · 07/10/2025 06:36

Adding this after all the recent mascara talk

Boots have the Estée Lauder Double Wear zero-smudge mascara in the £10 offers.

I have ordered one to try, my current favourite is Hourglass Unlocked.

https://www.boots.com/estee-lauder-double-wear-zero-smudge-lengthening-mascara-6ml-10074890

This is the one I use, I've just ordered 2 😊 it's not great for pushing up, but it's good for separating and lengthening eyelashes and it doesn't budge. I normally use another to push up, at the moment it's lancome hypnose.

CAMHShelp · 07/10/2025 07:26

I can’t keep up with the thread. Am I missing something but why is the M&S calendar £330?

pinkchampagne1 · 07/10/2025 07:27

JoRaRaRa · 06/10/2025 09:24

I have sold a load of clothes and the SNK ac stuff I didn't want, so I've spent a lot on vinted but it was all from my balance. I feel it justifies it. I was raising the money for the HN fragrance calendar, but now I've decided against that, I don't feel too guilty spending my earnings 😊

So I think all our spends are fully justified 😁

Oh well that totally justifies all your spends as it makes everything free 😁

Oh I did also withdrew £245 of it to put back into our account the money for the spacenk ac 😊 That's the thing when you have a balance, it makes it feel like it's free 🤣 I've spent up now... Booooo 😔
I did buy the Merchant of Venice Queen of the Night fragrance from someone from last year's harrods fragrance calendar. I'm looking forward to receiving that ☺️ I also nearly bought some of the fragrances from someone from the JL calendar, but resisted temptation, luckily they've sold now. No luck so far on the chantecaille mascara 😕 any recent vinted purchases for you?
