if someone is looking for a dress by the way i didnt think it looked up to much on the nager but it does look nice on

i am feeling very brave if i wear it without anything over it as will be maxing my flesh exposure

I don't agree Cote..I think modern balls have a much looser dress code for women. I've been to a couple recently and the womens dresses were 'varied' to say the least.

I even saw a woman wearing trousers at a ball.

lou33 · 02/06/2008 19:55

i think french polish on toenails looks a bit odd

LynetteScavo · 02/06/2008 19:55

Zippi, I bought a similar dress from Monsoon a while back and it's amazing!

Whizzz · 02/06/2008 19:55

Zippi - don't dare think of cheapo jewellery!!

Think Sparkly swarovski crystals! I made this one when I went to a ball - although you just can't catch the sparkle on photo. It's not as much as you think to make & I'm happy to oblige if you wish

oh & at our ball, not everyone was wearing long dresses (I wasn't) - prob about 70% were long - the shorter ones looked just as fab

'Balls' might have varied codes (wth did I just say?!? ) but 'black tie event' means long dress to me. I've been to a few and never saw any knee length dresses. Definitely see the photos from previous events, and not just to see dress lengths. Hair, make-up, jewellery - just how fancy is this ball? Knowing the territory will help you better prepare for the night, and that will help with your confidence

You must have your hair styled, though. At the very least, have it straightened the previous day.

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:02

oh whizzz your necklaces look lovely

and so do your photos

my shoes were only 13 quid so maybe i can get one of your necklaces

but there are so many lovel;y ones

i think a colour would be nice

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:03

zippi, you must get a professional blow dry. Its not about how it looks, its about you and how it makes you feel. You can get one in the morning and it will still look fine by evening. Sometimes it can be too styled when its first done anyway and you need the day to let it become you.

We need shoe pics please........

Whizzz · 02/06/2008 20:10

I can use coloured Swaro crystals - they do all sorts of yummy colours. You could even coordinate your necklace with your toenails - how about that Cod ??
Can also do matching earings

brucelovesfrumpygrumpy · 02/06/2008 20:11

And tell us, how attractive are your toes on a scale of one to ten?

brucelovesfrumpygrumpy · 02/06/2008 20:11

I need to more, I sound like matron

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:13

i cant wear earrings i let my holes grow over ages ago

zippi starts to feel like a lost cause

you will have to go in priceless to see the shoes they are like black satin stuff with a criss cross astrappy look and they have heels

i tried on some without heels but i think i worked out that heels were essential

not least because he is a foot taller than me

OP posts:
Whizzz · 02/06/2008 20:15

I just want an excuse to buy some yummy sparkles
look at all the loverly colours

zippitippitoes · 02/06/2008 20:17

well er my toenails are a bit horny but my feet arent that bad...um toes im not sure 6 maybe

i dont have nay corns or stuff or unhelathiness or that cracked business people seem to mention

i have varicose veins but think they are just about hidden

i do have bruisey bit quite often on the front of one of my calves but hopefully it wont be noticeable
