Pyjamas, what do you prefer?

Just about to buy some pj’s and wondered what people prefer in long ones, cuffed bottoms or non cuffed? Loads of the non cuffed look really wide, do they drive you mad riding up your leg in the night or do you cuffed ones ride up too?

I can’t stand wearing socks in bed so can’t tuck the bottoms in to socks.

100% cuffed. Can’t stand them riding up

Bluesecretarybird · 19/09/2025 20:02

They drive me mad riding up, if they aren’t cuffed I just don’t buy them now.

BunMum26 · 19/09/2025 20:27

Cuffed, always!

angelspike2025 · 19/09/2025 22:33

Cuffed always
prefer a slim cuffed bottom then oversized top
although I’m wearing mean girls pjs so don’t take fashion advice from me

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 19/09/2025 22:40

Even cuffed ones ride up for me it's so annoying.

ApolloandDaphne · 19/09/2025 22:53

I buy all my pyjamas from Tesco. The shirt sleeved, long legged sets for about £12. They never ride up.

mynameiscalypso · 19/09/2025 23:06

I prefer a wide leg myself but that’s mainly because I look like a turnip in cuffed trousers of any description.

GentleSheep · 19/09/2025 23:15

Wide leg. Don't seem bothered by them riding up at night!

RuffledKestrel · 19/09/2025 23:19

I hate cuffed clothing, especially in bed. Makes my skin feel suffocated .

SliceofTosst · 19/09/2025 23:24

Cuff. Even if they ride up they don't twist and ride up that much.

ExquisitelyDecorating · 19/09/2025 23:27

I only wear them on a few of the very coldest nights but definitely cuffed, not so much because of the cuff but because they are stretchy fabric, I can't wear the button up flanelette type as they gape at the back when I curl up in bed and don't stretch enough either.

BankfieldForever · 19/09/2025 23:35

Wide leg. I’m not really bothered by them riding up in bed.

I can’t wear socks in bed either, or sleep naked. Both feel horrendous.

MaybeItWasMe · 19/09/2025 23:38

Wide leg. Have to buy the ones that are supposed to be 3/4 length or they’re too long. Really don’t like shorts. They always get wedged in awkward places…!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 19/09/2025 23:39

I slightly prefer cuffed but regular leg is ok for me too. I always wear men's pj bottoms in flannel for winter as they are generally a heavier, better quality fabric and they are a bit longer.

Myoldbones · 20/09/2025 00:04

I wore wide leg ones last night and they drove me mad riding up! I have ordered some cuffed ones so hopefully they will be better.
I can’t wear the shorts sets either, they ride up in very uncomfy places!!
I wish I could wear the thicker fleece ones but hate being too hot in bed so they have to be thinner cotton ones.

Cuffed. Else I end up in a tangled mess. Highly recommend Chelsea Peers.

Cripes12345 · 20/09/2025 00:22

I wear men’s long loose legged PJs from Tesco, or shorts sets. Womens PJs are usually too short and I find men’s tend to be much more breathable fabrics.

Ticktockwatchclock · 20/09/2025 00:37

I really like the bottoms that are either like leggings or close fitting with a cuff that is tight enough so they don’t ride up. My favourite ones are those I have bought from either Tesco or Sainsbury’s. I just wear a vest top with them.

WhineAndWine1 · 20/09/2025 08:33

Can’t stand cuffed but then i on,y wear pjs for lounging about at night. Hate the thought of wearing clothes in bed

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 20/09/2025 08:42

Ooh where did you get the cuffed ones? I can’t wear wide legs not very side of riding up but because of the likelihood of me tripping over in them!

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 20/09/2025 08:48

I like a loose cuffed pyjama leg. Costco always have really nice pjs in stock.

Devilsmommy · 20/09/2025 08:52

I wear the normal ones but from the tall section. They're less likely to ride up that way

HelenHywater · 20/09/2025 08:53

Can't wear cuffed because I look awful in them. I wear wide legs (which I do trip over frequently when I'm walking around as I like them to be long). I only wear pj bottoms in bed on the coldest nights though. Generally will wear a top of some kind.

Missymarple · 20/09/2025 08:55

Always wide leg. They do ride up but go back down with a shake of the leg. The cuffed ones ride up and then get stuck and need to be physically yanked down. Can't be doing with that.

My peeve with pyjamas is that the top is never long enough and ends up bunched up round my waist with my back getting cold. I have to buy separate trousers and nightshirts just for the length.

Cantseetreesforthewood · 20/09/2025 09:16

Wide legged jersey, and absolutely no buttons.
