Taylor's ring is huge (as expected) but nice to see she hasn't gone for an enormous platinum solitaire.
It's a lovely piece.

It's certainly a welcome change from the norm.

It'll be very interesting to see what her eventual wedding ring is like - I assume it'll be shaped to fit around half of the stone.

It's gold too. Platinum seems to have been de riguer for many years now, it can look so dull against a gem.

I can't figure out how it would fit. POW hides under her sapphire ring.

I can't decide if I like Ms Swift's ring or not. It's very chunky and I'm not a fan of the rectangular diamond but I do like that it's unusual.

I prefer a platinum, palladium or white gold setting with rings.
I don’t like yellow gold.

Well, in my extremely limited experience, there's much less of a taboo in the US about remodelling your engagement/wedding/eternity rings, as Meghan has done and as several US friends of mine have also done. So who knows if this ring will stay in this format permanently? For the record, I think it's very sensible - if you don't like the setting but still love the person, just get the ring altered!

Exactly. It’s hard enough to find a man you want to be with forever but having the same ring on your finger every minute for the rest of your life is even harder.

I don’t plan to have the same haircut or the same style of home decor forever so why can’t a woman redesign her ring as she moves through life?

Let's hope Kate adores her engagement ring, because imagine what the Mail etc would say if she had that remodelled!

I really like Jetsun's dress - I think it's the first time I've seen her in Western clothes and it's a cracker.

DH let one of his fishing programmes overrun recently up popped a documentary on Bhutan. What an incredible country. Melding the traditional with far seeing modern climate change solutions. This is truly a good place on our planet.

I'm in the US and I redesigned my engagement ring (added diamonds to the band. I also changed my wedding ring from a plain gold one to a band of diamonds. I was delighted with the new look.

Here’s another 2 Mary outfits for you then @Cassiope. The summer sailing trip is over. I think she has worn the beige patterned dress fairly recently. It’s ok but I prefer the doggy.

The green dress is nicer but the bodice gapes at each button and I can see her bra and stomach. It’s a very adoring look she is giving Fred though.

A journalist asked Queen Mary about Princess Isabella’s risqué slogan tshirt she wore to a festival: “My first thought was: Have you lost your mind? But let’s put it in this way. Some decisions are better than others.” Tactfully put without giving Isabella a public telling off.
