Cheap perfume options: yardley, tk max, etc

Where do you get them? Are they actually good?
Im so fed up of buying "proper" perfume, nowadays their prices are insane and their sticking power really weak.
I also have a TK Max near me, can you get perfumes from there?

In my local TKMaxx they have perfume, but as I know zilch about perfume I couldn't say what they stock.

EssentiallyDecluttering · 16/08/2025 19:14

TKMaxx sell perfume but they don't have testers. Larger branches of Boots sell Yardley. M&S have a really good perfume range at reasonable prices.

If you have an original factory shop near you they do some very good dupes. £3 ish. Obviously they don’t last as well as expensive ones but for £3 you can use them like a body spray. Their Dreamy one is a dupe of Ariana Grande Cloud and it’s very good.

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 16/08/2025 19:16

I've bought some dupes from Perfume Parlour, & they're good.
I still had a drop of a real Jo Malone left, so I compared that with the dupe by spraying on wrists.
The same smell, but the cheapo lasted longer.

OrsolaRosso · 16/08/2025 19:18

I quite like the perfumes from Next. Flowers is lovely and fresh, and Vanilla and Amber is gorgeous for an evening out.

Ilovemyshed · 16/08/2025 19:21

I really like some of the M&S ones. They do a discovery set worth a look.

cotedazur28 · 16/08/2025 19:25

M&S and Zara are my go to places particularly Zara.

TizerorFizz · 16/08/2025 19:32

Allbeauty have some good deals on decent brands. I find them reliable. I never ever buy dupes. I like decent ingredients.

Another vote for M&S perfumes - go and smell a few testers, there’s lots of really nice ones. My favourite is Soft Iris. I also have white coconut and one of their summer limited edition ones.

Warm Neroli is lovely - doesn't last long but it's cheap enough to spritz around. My sister tells me that the Intense version last longer and the Neroli and Sea Salt is very summery...

EssentiallyDecluttering · 16/08/2025 20:44

Yes, I'm a big fan of Warm Neroli, it lasts all day on me.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/08/2025 20:49

Primark used to do a series of Jo Malone dupes, but I haven’t seen them in a long time.

wantmorenow · 16/08/2025 21:11

Lidl does Coco mademoiselle dupe " suddenly madame glamour which is awesome. I second perfume parlour and Milton Lloyd for amazing dupes.

The quality of ingredients is the same and lasting power similar and sometimes better. Perfume is definitely one product where price simply reflects the posh bottle and advertising budget and or celebrity endorsement, no relationship with quality. I know from industry experience.

UpUpAwayz · 16/08/2025 21:14

Another vote for M&S whose perfumes are £10 and all dupes of big names. I like soft iris which is a dupe for Chanel that normally costs £70+.

Would that be No. 19?

Im really tempted by the M&S aromatherapy Warmth one.

M&S Pink Pepper is a dupe of La Vie Est Belle and I have both and confirm the dupe smells exactly the same just doesn’t last as long.

Screamingabdabz · 16/08/2025 21:54

I never think dupes have the complexity of the originals but I agree that the staying power and cost of perfume is ridiculous now. I’m also lookIng for alternatives. I’m going to try some of the older ones I loved in the 90s that are a bit cheaper now.

roses2 · 16/08/2025 21:56

Another fan of perfume parlour here, their dupes are lovely.

That’s really strange - I have the Pink Pepper fragrance, but it smells like Flowerbomb on me!
Can confirm the Apothecary Warmth one is gorgeous.

Violetparis · 16/08/2025 22:04

M&S and Next do lovely perfumes.

moggerhanger · 16/08/2025 22:06

There's a oud stall in a shopping centre near me, that is always willing to hand out test strips. I bought a small bottle for about £40 last Xmas - gorgeous woody scent, lasts ages and doesn't go weird on my oily skin. (I can make the fanciest eau de parfum smell like fly spray!) DD13 is always nicking it too.

CarefulN0w · 16/08/2025 22:08

Another vote for perfume parlour, and top tip, buy the oils as well as the spray. That way it lasts most of the day.

GLC789 · 16/08/2025 22:18

Marks and Spencer own brand scents are great! I have several different ones and they last all day. Only use my special perfume for occasions now x

MaryGreenhill · 16/08/2025 22:24

M & S are amazing
