Who still has the back to school mentality when it comes to September in terms of buying new stationery, clothes ( even just a new pair of socks) and new accessories etc?

Papier diaries are lovely. I’ve moved to them now after Paperchase died a high st death

I use these for my planner https://www.personalplanner.com/EN/

You get to choose so many options and really customise it for you. Plus it remembers dates so puts birthdays in for you (with the right age) and then updates it for next year!

I have a discount code, DM me if anyone wants it.

The back to school feeling never left me as an adult - I usually bought myself new boots in place of school shoes!
Now I've just got a job in a school, I'm using that as an excuse to buy work clothes and a bulk purchase of red pens.

Those design a planner sites look great, but I'm a fussy sod and can't cope with that chunky spiral binding!

fruitpastille · 21/08/2025 08:35

I like the moleskine diaries with the days of the week on the left hand side and a lined page on the right for notes. I can't afford any other stuff for me right now what with secondary uniform, 6th form dress code appropriate clothes and university essentials!

They are my second favourite - but the paper is too fine to use with a fountain pen.

I still love the back to school feeling even though I’ve been out of eduction for nearly 25 years. I love new pens, new notebooks, new coats and new boots.

I'm not a teacher/academic and its 15 years since my daughter left school. But! There is just something about the new academic year that calls to me. Being in Scotland, our kids went back last week and I am itching to buy next years planner (to start in Jan 2026) and to buy a new pair of Winter boots 😂

Have any teachers bought new shoes for school? I can't work out what I want. Need to be really comfortable!

PaquitaSalas · 21/08/2025 21:08

I’m a teacher in Scotland. Back to school this week and have these in black and also the plain chocolate brown (think those are sold out everywhere). The marketing spiel about them being as comfy as trainers is true. Have worn both pairs this week with no issues straight from the box.

My daughters dad sent her over £50 to buy her stationery that I could have got her free from work. We always buy new knickers and socks just to get to October half term and they’re all missing again.

They're really lovely. I'm reluctant to order shoes online though, as I have funny, narrow little feet.

PaquitaSalas · 21/08/2025 21:27

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie They are billed as narrow fit - ‘Fit - Narrow - FitFlop recommend if you have wider feet or are inbetween sizes to consider sizing up’
But I know exactly what you mean about wanting to try first. i’m generally the same.

If I get desperate and can't find anything in a shop, I might take a punt. Thanks!

I use positive teacher company for their planners, I think I will struggle to find anything that tops it.
