What are you wearing most at the moment?

OP posts:
helloquitty · 04/08/2025 22:31

i wear either a dress above the knee with trainers or a wedge or jean skirt and tshirt.

Probably not ‘trendy’ but I think it suits me and I still get told I look nice by everyone and strangers occasionally 😘

Evenmoretired44 · 04/08/2025 22:38

Whistles linen barrel leg trousers with cotton shirts or loose woodblock print dresses

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/08/2025 22:41

Bootcut jeans, converse, tshirt.
Skinny jeans, tucked in boden shirt. I'm going off skinny jeans now though.
Want to be wearing nice summer things but summer has disappeared!

BemVindo · 05/08/2025 03:50

For work - either wide legged tailored trousers with fitted top, blazer and trainers or if I need to go a bit smarter, 3/4 tapered trousers, silk blouse and blazer with pointy flats.

Summer everyday - midi dress with a waist or wide legged jumpsuit with flat sandals.

Casual - wide legged jeans, fitted tee and trainers (I need to show off my waist so can’t do baggy or boxy tops or shirts or I look like a great big block)

unlikelychump · 05/08/2025 03:55

Shorts and tshirt. Longer shorts and top.
Is my fav time of the year.

PiggieWig · 05/08/2025 04:00

Wide leg trousers, trainers and blazer seems to be my current go-to

Thingamebobwotsit · 05/08/2025 04:54

Uniqlo barrel leg cotton trousers, and cotton tops.

Trainers or Birkenstock (Tulum).

Linen utility jacket, cotton jackets.

Lightweight cardigans (not trendy but very practical) or loose sweaters.

Skirts have been disappointingly tiered again this year, which does not suit me, so straight linen ones from a few years ago. Dresses, shift dresses above the knee and couple of maxi linen dresses, on repeat. Eyeing up some shirt dresses as we move into Autumn.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 05/08/2025 06:26

Vans or allsaints T shirt and wide legged/baggy jeans with trainers - vans or converse.
Jorts with t shirt as above.
For work I'll wear a dress - shift dress or fit and flare mostly.
If I'm going out, a t shirt dress or a mini skirt with a t shirt or top and normally boots - like DMs or something.

KPPlumbing · 05/08/2025 06:56

My long sleeved, mini, button-up Levis denim dress (quite 70s) with sandals. I'll wear it with tights and doc martens in the winter.

Sundresses and sandals.

Mini flared jeans (again, quite 70s) with a cropped tshirt or demin shirt and Addidas Sambas.

I don't 'dress for 40' as such. I just wear what I like.

StarlightLady · 05/08/2025 08:15

Dresses have caused something of a riot on here of late 😀! But summer or winter, l love my dresses.

ZenNudist · 05/08/2025 08:26

For work: wide leg Jersey trousers or tapered crop trousers and a silky t tucked in with blazer and black nike trainers or swap out for coloured ballet flats to look smart.

Casual: wide leg lightweight elastic waist and slightly cropped trousers with a patterned t tucked in and denim jacket or boxy cardigan. Then leather sandals or green suede campuses.

Evening (still quite casual) I like a jumpsuit and sandals.

I have long (midi worn maxi as I'm short) shirt dresses that are great in the mid seasons to winter, smart work or going out but not liking them for summer.

Bags are crossbody. I'm still a fan of camera bags for casual/eve but work I have coach satchels.

TheChosenTwo · 05/08/2025 08:38

I’m 40, on my way to work via an appointment but currently wearing a long black stretchy column skirt with a black vest and a great sweatshirt over the top as it’s sunny but properly chilly here. It feels like an autumn day! And my office is freezing so I like layers.

TheChosenTwo · 05/08/2025 08:38

Haha a grey sweatshirt! It’s pretty great too but definitely grey.

fiorentina · 05/08/2025 08:40

Favourite outfits at the moment include a mix of denim bermuda shorts or barrel leg jeans with t-shirts or Damson Madder frilled blouses, khaki jacket or technical jacket if raining!
Maxi leopard skirt with white t-shirt for
casual day nights out.
Still like a dress for a night out with strappy flats.

Cedrabbage · 05/08/2025 08:42

Long sleeve low neck body suit, wide leg casual trousers/jeans. Very basic but flattering.

Pretty much exactly this although I’ve swapped out the midi dress for some floor sweeping long dresses - which only really work when there’s zero chance of rain.

Hibiki · 05/08/2025 08:46

Wide leg jeans
crop top
Onitsuka Tiger trainers

above knee dresses, different styles but mainly shift or skater paired with Onitsuka’s depends on dress which colour trainers I wear

Bodypumpmum · 05/08/2025 09:03

A binbag

Oh me too! Currently with big buckle Birkies 😎👌

Fruitsherbert · 05/08/2025 09:11

I'm a bit eclectic.
In work, I tend to like channelling different decades, but with either what I can find in shops/ vinted/ Ebay or whatever I've still got. Got 3 decades of clothes, so not doing too badly. Big fan of wide trousers and silky shirts. I have height and elegant shoulders, so that works.

I don't do frills. Seen a glut of young girls in ruffled skirts, little tops and wide belts. I was early 20s when I wore those exact outfits... so no.

This summer:
Scruffy shorts+ hoody
Or tailored, high waist shorts and slightly cropped top.
Wide trousers and crop top.
Slip dresses until I die. I'm sorry I was unfaithful to them from 26-38. I wear them a little different to when I was 16, but I should never have deviated.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 05/08/2025 09:24

Either a maxi dress and trainers if warm enough or wide flowy trousers or wide legged jeans and a tucked in t-shirt/ vest top. Dress or blouses and smart trousers for work. Nails always done, always wear a belt with trousers and hair styled or scraped back if I CBA....

NOTANUM · 05/08/2025 09:29

@Fruitsherbert your style sounds great. Can you elaborate on the outfits for work please? Three decades sounds fun!

JustJazzy · 05/08/2025 09:41

Band/graphic/plain tee/vest top/slightly cropped top, waistcoat, wide leg/flare/straight/skinny jeans(jeans are Levi’s brand mainly with a couple from A&F), wide leg slouchy trousers, leopard flare leggings, denim shorts, adidas zip up/hoody/sweatshirt/oversized shirt. Night out either flare/skinny jeans or faux leather short skirt with a bodysuit/band tee/nicer top(corset style, milkmaid, lace, plunge) Colour wise I wear black, red, leopard print, very occasionally grey or white.
Vans, converse, sambas, sl72, campus, onitsuka Mexico 66, dm sandals, cowboy boots or dm boot if going out or need a boot.

It's often a nod to, rather than full on.

So, I basically take a look i like- like 70s tv presenter or Lois Lane, and go from there. That could be wide brown trousers and a mad, pointy collar shirt. Brown boots. Currently loving that tank tops are around.

Or 60s Beatnik- black polo neck jumper. Short skirt. All the eyeliner, but less than in my 20s.

Katherine Hepburn- wide trousers, high waist, flowing shirts.

Then there's the odd nod to my goth youth.

I grew up in the 80s, so i try to avoid that, because it's princess di and my mum. Although i guess pleated skirt/tshirt/ flats is very much what my mum wore.

I was very Madmen inspired in my 20s, but that was easy because so were the shops!

I would never have survived in a job where I had to wear a uniform. I disappoint myself when it's just a boring shirt and trousers day.

DappledThings · 05/08/2025 09:44

Shorts, tshirts and sandals.

It's very much still summer in Kent.
