I've been using NUXE body oil balm & love it but it is out of stock everywhere (not sure if they have discontinued it). Please can I have your body moisturiser recommendations?

I can’t seem to find a list of Yuka approved body lotions/body creams.

I have an incredible one from France. Otherwise Neals yard bee honey one. Or body butters by L’Occitane. I find lotions aren’t as moisturising for me though.

Olive oil is actually the best.

I understand that Yuka isn't an accurate fact based app but driven purely by money. The people who set it up don't have a background in any field of science

What do you know about the people who set it up?

their backgrounds are in business & engineering - nothing to do with science or medicine or research. They are not qualified to make the assessments or assess the efficacy of the research that may have been done

It is possible to read up on the harm that various ingredients do to health without being a scientist. Julia Bradbury for example is very passionate about eliminating toxic ingredients from her skincare and food .Its very easy to become really knowledgeable by doing research and informing yourself .

I’d love to know then whst Julia Bradbury uses as her go to body cream, face cream, shower gel and shampoo @Lushvegetation

completely agree you can do it yourself & my inclination is to trust Julia Bradbury before the Yuka website who get paid to influence

Influencer isn’t the word I would use. They’re providing a really good service and if they are managing to do that whilst paying their bills that’s fine by me. They aren’t promoting products, they’re helping people avoid toxic products and choose an alternative. If you’re suggesting the alternative products are paying them for promotion , I think you need evidence.

deeahgwitch · 24/04/2026 10:36

What does Yuka say is a good body cream / lotion ?

lindyloo57 · 24/04/2026 12:12

I wouldn't buy anything high end, did anyone see the apprentice when he said it take a few pounds to make a cream and they mostly use the same factorys and products, and the mark up is unbelievable, that why she won i think, because cosmetics industry make so much money why do you think trinny went into it.
