AngryAlot123 · 02/07/2025 18:41

thought i'd post on here aswell cause i need replies quick x

Went out today just buying the basics before we go off on our holls on friday. Picked up some new socks for my ds's ( 13 & 17) coz they both been complaining bout socks and pants. anyways i found myself in underwear aisle for about 20 minutes, in the end dind't get owt, and wen I asked em just now which they prefer i was met with shrugs 🙄. If any mum's have got tips on what to get it'll be greatly appreciated, cause i need to buy soon and pack. Tia x

My ds has white sport socks which I get from sports direct and plain black socks which I get from anywhere.

Pants...I'd just buy any plain dark coloured boxer

If they can't be bothered to engage in which underwear they prefer I'd buy them each a pack of old fashioned y fronts (as cheaply as possible) or some Kacy pink pants that'll teach them to be less bratty. Why are you wasting your time asking what other teenage boys prefer, when it's your rude boys that will be wearing them.

or you could have just thrown a couple of packs in the trolley if they're genuinely unfussy & don't mind.

Nike socks and boxer short style pants.

They weren't with me, and i thought i might aswell be nice. needless to say i've learnt my lesson. i didn't think they were bratty, just normal teenage behaviour, but hey-ho we live and we learn i guess 😅😅

My sons like plain black boxers like this. Branded if you have the budget but plain black if not.

They like sports socks (black and white) from Primark. One likes trainer socks too but the other doesn’t.

budget isn't a problem, whatever's best for them, and least likely to get em bullied cause i know thats a problem now. how old are your ds's and what brands do they prefer / recommend x

My DS is 12 and he wears plain black boxers, from Asda is fine as long as there is no logo or anything on them. He needs socks and I have been asked to get black Nike crew socks

Needmorelego · 02/07/2025 19:09

Well what style do they currently wear now?
If they've not asked for a different type surely you just buy more the same?

Needmorelego · 02/07/2025 19:09

Why would they get bullied over pants?
Surely they aren't seen?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 02/07/2025 19:13

just buy them a bigger size if whatever they’re wearing now.

Ours wear the trunk style pants. Usually from Tesco or Sainsbury’s.

loose or tight boxers? it's abit overhwelming cause my ex used to handle that side of raising them, theres so many brands, styles, sizes, lengths, it's endless honestly

@AngryAlot123 just look in their drawers to see what style they currently own.
Have you really never bought your sons underwear before?

i don't want to go into the specifics, but i didn't have custody so no xx

@AngryAlot123 ok sounds like you should just hand them 20 quid each and shove them into Primark to choose their own.
As for the bullying thing - I doubt underwear is on show for more than 10 seconds.

Sometimes boys like to wear bottoms low so you can see the waistband of the underpants.

AngryAlot123 · 02/07/2025 19:21

no time x. they're staying at their grans till we go + at school / college

Safest is plain black or something sporty like Nike. (I assume that their fashion sense is sporty as in goodies and joggers sort of thing)

https://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-3-pack-everyday-cotton-trunks-mens-422772#colcode=42277213

This sort of thing. I would expect them to have an opinion on colour but black is safest if they won’t talk to you.
