AngryAlot123 · 02/07/2025 18:41

thought i'd post on here aswell cause i need replies quick x

Went out today just buying the basics before we go off on our holls on friday. Picked up some new socks for my ds's ( 13 & 17) coz they both been complaining bout socks and pants. anyways i found myself in underwear aisle for about 20 minutes, in the end dind't get owt, and wen I asked em just now which they prefer i was met with shrugs 🙄. If any mum's have got tips on what to get it'll be greatly appreciated, cause i need to buy soon and pack. Tia x

Sometimes boys like to wear bottoms low so you can see the waistband of the underpants.

Yeah but if they're wearing shabby asda basics they won't do that will they 😂

shellyleppard · 02/07/2025 19:23

@AngryAlot123 something that is comfortable and supportive.... according to my 19 year old son. His 80 years old grandad ( my dad) says exactly the same thing!! 🤣🤣 When they got to 15 I let them buy their own

AngryAlot123 · 02/07/2025 19:23

sorry but why do they even do that...

@AngryAlot123 do they actually need new underwear?
You asked them what type. They didn't give an answer. Well too late....they will have to wear what they have.

Sorry but your "I'm so clueless about teenage boy underwear" act is making me think "hmmmm🤔" so I'm out of this conversation.

scrivette · 02/07/2025 19:26

The DC have a mix of loose and tight boxer shorts - maybe a pair of each? I tend to get them black or grey.

Snorlaxo · 02/07/2025 19:27

Teen boys vary in tastes but they probably have an opinion on brands like Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss etc Check places like JD Sports (assuming they dress sporty in hoodies etc)

It’s strange that they won’t express an opinion ot point at a pair (even online )
My teens did not like shopping with me but there’s plenty of online places with photos of what they like.
Do they want the same style in a bigger size? There should be tags in the current ones that would make things easier

shellyleppard · 02/07/2025 19:34

@AngryAlot123 wait until their pants fall apart then send them shopping??? Agree teenager s can be frustrating at times. But they need to start doing these things for themselves at some point. I have two and we shop online at M and M direct. Very good delivery, fantastic prices and stuff id delivered within 48 hours. Is this w possible option??

IggyAce · 02/07/2025 19:43

My ds wear plain black trunks he likes the ones from Asda and they go upto age 16 I believe.

My DH wears boxers but my teen ds’s wear trunks.

you can get briefs. They’re more knicker shaped than short shaped - ours only wore them when they were much younger. You’re going to have to talk to your DS’s I think.

i'm not going to see my ds's till we go, would u recommend the briefs though? cause i think they've got the trunks already

Ours wouldn’t wear briefs past the age of about 7 and definitely wouldn’t want to be seen wearing them at 13 and 17. Can you buy a selection, leave them in the packaging for your dc to decide which they prefer and take the rest back?
