What do you wear at weekend? I need to move away from hoodies and leggings

I live in hoodies and legging out of laziness and comfort. I realised today that I have no clothes in my wardrobe that I could just put on if I wasn’t in leggings and a hoodie!

please help me with some causal clothing inspiration, because I have no idea what is should be wearing anymore.

What would you wear if you were just visiting a friend? Or going out for lunch? Or just shopping?

I feel like a slob!

OP, I am loving (and living in) wide leg trousers at the moment with a vest top or good quality simple t-shirt. H&M have got some lovely ones. Striped, plain, patterned. It’s simple, classy and very comfy. You could add a denim or linen shirt over the top as a layer. I will usually wear this with sandals in the hot weather we are currently having.

I also love a midi skirt with a tshirt or top.

wide leg jeans are lovely too, with a nice blouse and belt and maybe some wedges for a bit of height if you’re off somewhere nice.

Co-ords are nice too and make you look very put together - so a nice waist coat and tailored trousers.

Ive got a uniqlo sleevelss dress on today. It's so comfy, and flattering, I have two and wear them most weekends at the moment.

Shorts and T-shirt - standard summer outfit

Same.
Sort of hiking type, khaki coloured usually.
In this weather I'll wear a black racer vest with a shirt over.
I have lots of summer dresses but would never wear one unless dressing up to meet a friend. Usually, I just switch to cream shorts and smarter trainers for the occasion😁

I was a slob and stayed in pjs 🤣 tbf I done housework, showered then put fresh pjs on. Now I'm in bed (still in pjs) eating a pizza

I went out for brunch with my friend today. I wore a striped jumpsuit. When I got home I changed into a sheered playsuit so I could take my bra off for comfort.

Depending on the weather

black/blue jeans & t shitt/ribbed jumper/seeatshirt
linen shorts and vest top/t shirt
maxi skirt & vest top
jersey or ribbed summer dress

Today I wore Cos barrel leg trousers in a yellow-y cream-y colour, with a white embroidered blouse/top from Pieces via ASOS, and tan suede Birkenstock Boston clogs to go out for dinner. Earlier I was in green and white gingham wide legged trousers from Uniqlo with a white Arket t-shirt.

I've been wearing summer dresses and a thin shrug over the top for a few weeks now. I have quite a lot of cotton skirts which I wear with a T shirt or sometimes a nice top depending on where I'm going.

I think this vibe is probably what I need to go for. Thanks @RowsOfFlowers

Trouble is I have a mostly white tabby cat and a black cat so whatever I wear in the house gets covered in cat hair. I tend to put nice clothes on only when I go out. I have shares in sticky clothes rollers.

henlake7 · 29/06/2025 16:32

I dont get my legs out so its mostly maxi dresses or wide legged trousers/maxi skirts with graphic tees this time of year.
(although leggings and oversized tee will always be my number one choice for early morning dog walks!).

LeaveALittleNote · 29/06/2025 18:24

Swap leggings for wide leg trousers or a midi skirt.

Swap hoodies for cotton knitted boat neck jumpers.

It’s simple and not necessarily the height of fashion, but I think those are wardrobe staples and just as easy and comfortable as leggings and hoodies.

Meadowfinch · 29/06/2025 18:32

In this heat, a woven cotton sun dress and flat sandals if I was going out to lunch.

Last weekend drinks in the evening, I wore a long linen skirt and a white short sleeved cotton blouse, with block heeled sandals.

wheresmymojo · 29/06/2025 18:40

I pretty much wear dresses 90% of the time because it’s easy to look ‘put together’ as you’re not having to coordinate top and bottom.

Today I wore a navy blue dress that has very short sleeves and comes to knee length(ish).

Yesterday I wore a blue lightweight denim dress that was above knee length.

Wore them with a pair of natural/nude pumps from Mint Velvet and gold earrings and a little straw/wicker and tan cross-shoulder bag.

In this weather? As little as possible. But if I have to leave the house then linen trousers and vest tops.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m doing too!

I literally live in easy, breezy linen trousers when going out.

Because it’s so hot atm, I’m wearing cami top and shorts round the house!!
