What do you wear at weekend? I need to move away from hoodies and leggings

I live in hoodies and legging out of laziness and comfort. I realised today that I have no clothes in my wardrobe that I could just put on if I wasn’t in leggings and a hoodie!

please help me with some causal clothing inspiration, because I have no idea what is should be wearing anymore.

What would you wear if you were just visiting a friend? Or going out for lunch? Or just shopping?

I feel like a slob!

I did a wardrobe overhaul in the pandemic as I used to only have a work wardrobe, "out" clothes, and slobby homewear. My homewear used to make me feel not so good about myself. Today I wore this linen dress. I have many very comfy, similar dresses that are so easy to wear, the most comfortable thing.

Generally a linen or cotton shirt, or a vest of some sort.

I wore a black linen maxi skirt today, with a white broderie top and Teva sandals.

I wore white linen shorts today with a blue picture T-shirt.

Wish I wore more of my nice clothes. I tend to be in my gym kit all day

Today I wore a black and white gingham summer dress.
I too used to wear leggings and sweatshirts 90% of the time but have managed to scale it right back to just the odd day once in a blue moon. I do like wearing them but I feel more productive if I feel like I’ve made a conscious effort to dress myself ‘nicely’!

I’m currently wearing loose linen trousers and a Guns n Roses vest top. I pretty much live in trousers or jeans and band t-shirts. My 19yo son says I dress like a teenager! I probably ought to overhaul my wardrobe at some point, but waiting until I’ve lost all my weight before I start spending money.

I rarely leave the house due to mobility issues and leggings/t shirt is my go to. However I have some nice maxi & midi dresses & some wide legged trousers that are comfortable & smarter for popping out.

Shorts and T-shirt - standard summer outfit

Sleeveless cotton jersey dresses, in a plain style, in the current hot weather. I'm short so they're almost maxi length on me, but not long enough to trip me up.

In cooler weather I've been wearing wide-legged trousers with a T-shirt. If it's chilly I wear an oversized sweatshirt over the top, which breaks my golden rule of not wearing baggy clothes top and bottom but it seems to work.

Both worn with trainers as I have problem feet.

I'm sure I'll be back in leggings, above the knee dress and boots at some point though as it such a convenient combination and it suits me. I couldn't care less if they're not fashionable at the moment.

I wore a long dress today but was out for lunch. I have some Spanx jeggings that I wear a fair amount working from home as they feel dressed enough to do the school run but they are as comfy as leggings, usually with a t shirt and then have a few smart-ish jackets so I can throw one on top to go out.

@dudsville and all the linen wearers - how you do stop it creasing to infinity. I love the idea of linen but I look like a bag of laundry in it.

I’m wearing short denim shorts and a white cotton smock top. I have loads of cotton smock tops that I wear loads with different colour denim shorts (I have white, blue, grey and pink), but they have to be short otherwise I look frumpy (and I have good legs).

I need inspiration too. Can’t afford clothes.

Linen viscose mix - softer and seems to hold up better than pure linen.

You don't. You just embrace the creased look.

Today I put on a soft denim mini dress from M&S after the gym. I normally wear jeans and jumper/t shirt or denim shorts and vest. Occasionally a sun dress when it’s really hot like today.

if I was going out for lunch with friends I might wear my linen pencil skirt and a Sézane top

I don’t keep clothing for “best”, I never wear all black outfits, & wear colourful clothing daily. I tend to wear the same colour, top & bottom or stripes with one of the colours matching. This summer I’ve worn neckerchiefs with Breton long/cropped sleeved tops, & my chunky timberland sandals with everything. And a lot of denim

I have a thing for jumpsuits so wear a lot of those at the moment or shorts and vest tops on very hot days.

I’ve just hit target after losing 2 stone 9lb so I am enjoying dressing for summer more than I have for years!

I tend to wear gym gear only for the gym or long walks.

I’m 50 and have no concept of what is in fashion so just dress for me and comfort really.

I'm wearing a Peacocks Khaki Aztec jumpsuit which is really cool and really comfy today and actually looks pretty stylish. I just tried to find a link for you and found myself buying another identical one in burgundy!

As a pp said, it's just a little crumpled and a part of the aesthetic. I will nap in my linen dresses. It still looks so much smarter than the leggings and hoody. Also, in the heat, the wrinkles do drop out a bit.

If Iim going to town or seeing a friendt I put something nice on because I'm so chuffed with not being fat any more.
Last week I wore some flared navy trousers, a white t shirt and my whistles sleevless blazer with some navy loafers.
Then my uniqlo pink dress with a white crochet style cropped cardigan and some chunky wedge sandals.
I felt the best Ive looked in years 😀

Long skirt and vest top/short T shirt or shorts with the same. Flat sandals or slip on Skechers for most of the summer. I don’t wear much black or denim, l like bright colours and generally prefer skirts and dresses to trousers.
