Seen a full length photo of Sophie now…she looks smashing.

The dress hangs beautifully and I love the pattern. I still think it’s just a smidge too long though. Great hat

I love Sarah Chatto’s style. Full skirts and fitted cardigans are a look I often emulate.

It's very" Sandy Sandy"

deeahgwitch · 19/06/2025 20:40

I think Anne’s outfit is too short @CurlewKate

And something not quite right around the bust….

Cassiope · 19/06/2025 21:55

Lovely fresh-looking print on the Sophie Edinburgh's dress. Can't fathom how those in long sleeves weren't boiling though - nor why so many women opted for non-functional hats.

Zara Tindall looks very sharp - I like the earrings and admire her flying saucer hat.

After yesterday's bright green I quite like that the Queen chose something pallid - it's a practical colour for a hot, sunny day, her open-cuffed sleeves seem to offer more ventilation than most of the longer sleeves and her hat has a proper brim.

Papergirl1968 · 19/06/2025 22:06

Indeed, @Maireas
Half squat is a good way of describing it!

Is Sophie wearing those plastic thingies you can put on your shoes so they don’t sink into the grass ?
I wonder what they are called? ?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/06/2025 00:10

Here you go: heel stoppers

They do quite a variety

They will absolutely have been hot for the time they were outside - those in the carriage procession, the meet and greet in the winner’s enclosure when the carriages arrive - but after that they are in an air-conditioned box, mostly, and then would come out on a (shaded) balcony just to watch the actual races. So manageable.

I've seen a couple of trailers for a new series on the Mitford sisters called 'Outrageous'. Anyone watched it? Unfortunately its on a bit of an obscure streaming service (BritBox Confused) so I'm not able to watch.

deeahgwitch · 20/06/2025 13:47

Ah thanks @TracyBeakerSoYeah 😘

Are you in the UK? It's on the U channel here and free to watch.

Thanks! Hadn't realised that. I was just googling last night and couldn't figure out how to watch it.

U&Drama channel. I'm recording it for a binge watch in a few weeks.

Hopefully will be able to watch as I'm fascinated by the Mitfords.
JK looking good there. I like her 'go big or go home' quip!

Love JKR's hat!

Zara in a blue trouser suit today. I
like it but I must say it does look a bit strange when she is curtsying to the King 🤷‍♀️

I like Zara's trouser suit, just not at Ascot and with a hat. It doesn't look right, somehow.

Looks a bit warm for today as well. Even for an air conditioned box!
