I can recommend these by Chantelle, which are currently reduced on the John Lewis website.

I've just measured the gusset (7cm) similar ones I have from M&S are 5cm - makes a difference!

I wash them at 40 generally, they’ve also survived regular tumble drying over winter. Possibly not what everyone wants in a pant but they are very sturdy. I think they will outlast me.
