Please help!

I’m 38, size 16/18 and a short arse. But I’m in desperate need of tops for the summer.

i hate my arms so living in vest and shirt combos at the moment and it’s driving me mad.

looking online I am really struggling to find anything that’s either not frumpy or not a crop top?!

please help!!!

I have similar to this in lots of colours and wear them all year round.

@SherlockHolmes i love that it’s got a bit more shape to it than most linen tops I’ve seen so I’ll give that a go, thank you!

@Mumwork the sleeves are dreamy just what I need, I’m totally spoilt for choice now.

@BrownOwlknowsbest ive just been to an outlet, and there was a Roman there so I tried on a couple of things and just couldn’t get the sizing right. Lovely stuff tho thanks!

@Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink its really nice to know that someone else thinks that’s not a bad look though because I think I originally started doing it because it was comfy and not scruffy. I’ve got some really lovely tops and dresses I can alternate it with now ❤️

Confession, I used Mounjaro, it worked really well but was no walk in the park, I’ve stopped now as I was in danger of replacing flab with sag!
Swansea centre isn’t exciting, the new Arena is attracting some good entertainment and is the main reason we venture there, along with an excellent Asian and other cultures food store where the fruit and veg is cheap and outstanding as are the spices available
We live on the edge of Gower, close to the motorway so we can avoid the centre .

My friend has been losing lots on Ozempic, though she's diabetic so it's a health benefit with a weight loss benefit. She looks amazing but hasn't been a walk in the park for her with the side effects.

There's an Arena?! I know about the Liberty Stadium but that's it. I'd heard there were lots of small Asian shops along St. Helen's Road but the parking there is a nightmare. We used to go to Joe's at the bottom of that road but haven't bothered on visits for years. It used to be such a treat.

I used to spend a lot of time down the Gower. Is Shepherds near Oxwich still open?

No wonder I'm looking at the plus size tops thread! Joe's, ice cream at Shepherds, fond memories of the burgers at Strikeout at where I think the YMCA is (or was the last time I was there) and CJ's in Mumbles.

It is very difficult finding tops for your size without looking frumpy. I know OP as I’m the same size. I see a lovely top then try it on and I just look like a matronly Hattie Jacques. Nothing beats slim….

St Helens Road parking can be a pain but a trip around the side roads usually provides a parking space.
Joe’s ice cream is sublime! Anyone who doesn’t like Joe’s is not to be trusted imho 🤣. The parlour ice cream is much nicer than the freezer packs but even that is head and shoulders above other ice cream.
The Arena is an entertainment venue with a capacity of 3,500, I really like it.
Shepherds, still exists but changed hands in 2019 and is a cafe and shop selling local produce including Gower Gin!

@LoveTKO I agree - I’m same build as the OP - so tend to wear shorter dresses ( knee length) with plenty of stretch , with or without leggings depending on weather- sometimes maxis too - tops and trousers just don’t suit me much .
