This top - yes or no?

I went to M&S yesterday and picked up some trousers to try on. Picked up the nearest top to it cos I was wearing a dress and wanted to see what the trousers looked like with a top.

And I ended up really liking the top! I think it's cos I've lost a lot of weight recently and I just felt good in it. And it's different to my usual style and felt a bit cute. I didn't buy it and got home wondering whether I should.

I sent DD a link it and her only response was "ugly" haha.

Before I go spend £35 on a top, do you agree with DD or should I go back and get it?

Not keen on the bows personally. They look a bit plonked on x

I think i would only like this top on someone with a v slim build. My boobs are too big, and shoulders too broad - I'd look like Grayson Perry.

I don't hate it.... But I think it does depend on your body shape. I wouldn't wear it as despite being slim, I am carrot-shaped, so can't wear anything that accentuates my shoulders. I also hate the feel and look of cropped tops on myself.

I think it would look better with black or cream trousers rather than the jeans as styled in the picture. I think it would look quite cute with a flounced or tiered skirt. If you're pear shaped the volume balances out your hips.

Looks short on the body.

I'm not a fan of frou frou, bows and frills but for some reason I rather like this...it's quirky.

As I say, it's a bit on the short side for my comfort.

Personally I think it's hideous. But I am not a fashionista, so am not the best person to ask!

Buy it….look at it for a few days….try it on with other clothes you have.
If you still like it, keep it.
If you don’t like it then M&S have a very good returns policy.

I love it 😂 I don't follow fashion though and my daughter often has a "look" she gives me indicating she doesn't approve of my style choices 😁

I like it! (And I despise M&Spencer clothes.) But it’s worryingly cheap - have you looked at how it’s finished inside? If you think it would last a summer, and you like how you look in it then it can’t be a bad buy. (Although there’s a risk you’ll see it on an EastEnders character. Which would make me set fire to anything I owned.)

Nope. Not with the bows.

Without the bows, it wouldn’t be my style but I could see why some people might like it.

I don’t like it because of the bows, the sleeves and that it’s too short. Have you tried raising your arms to see how far it rises up?

The have the style in a few colours, theres a pale blue withot the bows that is much nicher, if it was the shape of the top you liked

Honestly, i wouldn't wear it because its the wrong colour, shape, everything - but I think it's really cute and fun! Taste is so subjective - but I love seeing people play around with fashion. If it makes you feel good it in, wear it! Life is too short.
