Earrings that can be worn all the time, even in the shower?

Not sure if I’m looking for the impossible here, but let’s see.
Generally I don’t have much luck with earrings. I’m a careful person but often they fall out or get lost. What I’d really like is some earrings that I can wear all day, every day and not have to worry about taking them out in the shower. My preference is dangle or drop earrings with a bit of sparkle; the type that have a sort of hook at the back, without a closure. Earrings with a butterfly closure aren’t ideal for me as they will invariably end up falling out.
So, if such a thing exists, your recommendation please for a bling earring that won’t go crusty or discoloured in water.

A question for those using labret bars, are they not too long, or do you get different lengths? When i tried some there was a lot of post sticking out.

Yes you can get different lengths of labret

lunaemma · 08/04/2025 17:54

Are they easy to put in?

I can’t wear huggie earrings my ear lobes too big! Had to send some monica vinader huggies back as would not fit on my earlobes! Not deep enough must have fat ear lobes!

longtompot · 08/04/2025 22:35

My dh bought these for me for a present and I can sleep on them and wear them on the shower with no issues

Huggie earrings

I brought my daughter gold earrings with screw backs as she's always loosing them. Was a bit more expensive but you can also get silver. As they are gold or silver you don't need to take them off. Sje had the 'huggie' ones (didn't know they were called that) but at a point it got weak and did occasionally come off

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1045957867/?ref=share_ios_native_control I wear these constantly without any issues even in the shower.

Lox earring backs. Game changer!

Thanks to these I know that the only way I will lose my earrings is if my whole ear lobe has gone with them. 🤪

Would highly recommend having lost my 50th birthday diamond earrings on two occasions before.

Had pierced ears for 40 years and never taken earrings out for showers etc. Wear the same pairs for weeks. Usually silver ot gold studs. Have also recently got some silver pull through earrings..again can wear always. Silver Rain has some cheap silver or gold studs and pull through earrings

auderesperare · 12/04/2025 23:24

You need solid gold earrings. These come in three sizes. https://www.lilyblanche.com/collections/gold-earrings/products/solid-gold-chunky-hoop-earring
They are my current favourites. Super comfortable. You don’t know you’re wearing them. Also available in silver and 9 carat white gold. I wear the medium but I’d go for the small if you never plan to take them off.

Lily and Roo, brilliant, I wear them all the time. Never taken them off in three years, unless to change for a night out

LisaD76 · 13/04/2025 06:12

There is only one earring made for sleeping in and it is called a sleeper.

Squarecobra · 13/04/2025 15:15

I did have these Milacolato 925 Sterling Silver... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08JLXTXXG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share but one of the kids at schoool managed to fiddle and open them so lost one. I now wear these Xihuimay 5 Pairs Titanium Steel... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09B7J8ZJ7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

ParsnipPuree · 13/04/2025 16:19

Little diamond studs just need cleaning occasionally.

sassyclassyandsmartassy · 13/04/2025 17:42

Huggies or similar styles is the way to go. I have some plain stainless steel ones and some stainless steel ones with cubic zirconia in and live in them day to day only changing them if I go out somewhere more dressy.

duckduckgo13 · 14/04/2025 07:04

Gold screw backs will serve you well. I rotate through 3-4 pairs of solid gold (22K) studs and wear them for 2-3 weeks at a time. I’ve done this all my life and most South Asian women do the same thing. Anything non-solid will tarnish, but solid gold will be ok.

Goingbonkers247 · 14/04/2025 08:33

I find huggies great but also body type jewellery with a ball closing at the back. they seem to fall out less and are made of stainless steel, so can be worn all the time but also don't cost an arm and leg.

Findingmypurposeinlife · 16/04/2025 10:05

Be careful about wearing earrings when you sleep. They can pull and 'tear' the piercing hole and it's not easy to remedy once it happens.
