Long legged anti chafe light control pants

I'm a size 5.8 size 12-14 so not massive but when I wear sundress my thighs always rub!

I buy cheap cycling shorts but they always roll up... About to go on a hot hol and my dream would be some light control hight waist shorts that would give a smooth line and no rub. All the ones I see don't look to have very long legs and I think they'd roll up.

Would rather not spend ££ but all recommendations gratefully received.

Sloggi long leg cotton knickers. Available on Amazon,

Secondtonaan · 17/03/2025 19:41

Thanks! Will try those, they look comfy and good price. Was hoping for a light control type jobbie as well if none haas other recommendations

Falke do capri length tights.

I have some from M&S. Not the cheapest but they must have done me at least 5 summers. Thin and sleek, feel cooler than not wearing them.

Like you in tall and slim, super fit actually, just ran a sub 4 marathon this weekend 🤣, but I can't wear dresses in summer without chafing.

Second the M&S ones, I’m short size 10 & carry weight on waist so big knickers/tights tend to roll down, but the M&S ones are great.

they’re not control but they do give a lovely smooth silhouette

Edited

I’m short and round and they roll down at the waist 😩

Before buying something new, try a bit of antiperspirant on your thighs at the point where they meet. Absolute game changer for me.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/03/2025 21:56

Not quite what you are asking for, but I really like the culottes slips from M&S - not clingy like long knicker type ones. I’m a size 10/12 so not huge, but my thighs are a disaster and I have tried them all!

Last year I tried a thing called Megababe Thigh Rescue which actually worked a treat. I got it on Cult Beauty. I was sceptical but it was great, especially on the days it was very warm and an extra layer would have been uncomfortable.

That’s easy for you to say…

LuckyCharmz · 18/03/2025 23:28

Another vote for the M&S ones.

ineedteanownotlater · 18/03/2025 23:34

Snag chub rub shorts. You can get standard length which are longer or shortie ones which are shorter.

BishyBarnyBee · 18/03/2025 23:36

You could also try the Lanacane anti chafing cream. It works brilliantly for me and I come from a long line of hefty thighed women. Cheap too.

Is this in relation to the antiperspirant between the thighs comment??

@Secondtonaan

this thread has a lot of info that may be useful

Fordian · 19/03/2025 00:13

M&S I think they’re called ‘light control’, they’re like light cycling shorts. Not cheap, £20 for two? Come in black and beige. But they’ve solved the chafing.

researchers3 · 19/03/2025 00:30

I cut up old pairs of tights and they work very well for this problem! You can cut to whatever length you like and they haven't rolled up or down yet.

ikeatime · 19/03/2025 00:33

Snag or Better Tights both do chub rub shorts that are fabulous for this! No rub even on veey hot days and very comfy too. Mine don’t roll up (or down). Highly recommend!

The majority of people this won’t work for so make sure anyone trying this out has a backup with them as they roll both up and down for most people!
