Ladies with oily skin susceptible to panda eyes...best waterproof mascara??

I've been having some problems with mascara lately, I've considered just not wearing it because I've bought 6 different ones that claim to be waterproof in the space of a few months only to find out on first use that they definitely are not, by the end of the day im sporting a full panda eye. Ladies with oily/combination skin...which waterproof mascaras have you found that actually live up to their claim?

You need a tubing mascara, I use Estee Lauder double wear, only comes off with warm water, doesn't smudge or run

HereComesEverybody · 23/02/2025 13:27

Seconding tubing mascara & i recommend ELF

Bluepenguin2 · 23/02/2025 13:35

Came here to say that too. I use one from a website called Wowcombo. It's fab

this one one I love. Never smudges.

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 23/02/2025 13:40

The best one I’ve had success with is the L’Oréal telescopic.

DumpedByText · 23/02/2025 13:49

I've tried them all, including Estée Lauder double wear. The only one that literally doesn't budge is Clinique Lash Power.

I go back to this every single time I try a new mascara!

Matildahoney · 23/02/2025 13:51

Elf tubing one, it's in black and green tube and dead cheap

Papadonut · 23/02/2025 13:51

Majolica majorca Japanese mascara. It's the only one I tried that works for my lashes and doesn't smudge.

andyouwillknowusbythetrailofdead · 23/02/2025 13:52

L'Oreal lash paradise, the waterproof one. You practically have to chip it off, it's great and makes your lashes look amazing

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 23/02/2025 13:52

Yep, you don’t need a waterproof one, you need a tubing one. I’ve tried most of them and the ELF one is brilliant for the price.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 23/02/2025 17:52

I use the elf tubing one. It’s cruelty free too.

Rosietru · 23/02/2025 18:10

Elf tubing cured my panda eyes!

I’ve tried 3 tubing mascaras. No7, kevyn aucoin and beauty pie. All are fantastic but I find the brush in the KA one the best. Try one, you won’t look back x

JudeGarret · 23/02/2025 21:36

Another vote for the Elf tubing one it's brillant

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 23/02/2025 21:39

Tubing mascara - comes off with warm water but nothing else shifts it. The only time I’ve had it smudge is on holiday when wearing a lot of sunscreen. Clinique Lash Power or the Hourglass tubing one in the gold bottle.

DollopOfFun · 23/02/2025 21:46

Yes to tubing mascara and I've tried loads, both high end and high street.

The ELF one knocks them all into a cocked hat, it's the only product I've ever used where my husband has commented, presuming I'd had something done to my lashes.

strangeandfamiliar · 23/02/2025 21:52

I also swear by Clinique Lashpower. It's often on Amazon for about £16.

I used to use this but switched to Elf, my lashes look so much longer and it's so much cheaper

Flozle · 25/02/2025 07:44

Off to Superdrug to try it out. Thanks @Matildahoney 😊

SomewhatMental · 25/02/2025 09:18

Thankyou everyone :) i had no idea about tubing mascaras..they sound amazing! I will start by trying out the ELF tubing one and if that doesn't work for me (I'm confident it will by the sounds of it!) I will try the more expensive ones

Benefit bad girl bang. I had to buy micellar water to remove it as nothing else would touch it.

MrsHaroldRobbins · 25/02/2025 10:43

Probably a silly question, but would the tubing mascaras come off if your eyes water (as is effectively warm water?). I have just tried the Clinique lash power and it smudged off within half an hour of being out in the wind (watery eyes).

ChangingHistory · 25/02/2025 10:48

Used to use clinique.

I've been using Eyeko beach one for a while now and am very happy. You can usually get a travel size one on ebay for about £5

Bluepenguin2 · 26/02/2025 11:35

@MrsHaroldRobbins I doubt it, I use eye drops about 20 times throughout the day due to severe dryness and it doesn't affect the tubing mascara at all, and neither does the odd splash when taking my toddler swimming. It has to soak a bit to absorb the water before coming off - it comes off easiest in the shower
