M&S - if you are reading this, can we please have more smaller sizes in stock?

Size 8 is always the first to go out of stock. Petite size 8 in particular. Does that not tell them something??

I find stores in general just have far fewer sizes available, I assume they expect us to go online. I'm a 12 and I feel like there are never any 12s just bigger and smaller sizes, I think there's probably some confirmation bias.

bournevilleismyfavourite · 21/02/2025 17:39

God totally. This does my head in. Always the 16-22s left. The 8 and 10s seen to go first. Why don’t they rectify this?!

Meadowfinch · 21/02/2025 17:50

And can they please stock long variants of trousers.

I think the buyer at our local store must be about five foot nothing because she seems to regard being tall as a deformity. I've given up trying anything on in store.🙁

Worldgoingmad · 21/02/2025 17:51

I think M&S are notorious for poor management of stock levels. There always seem to be racks of size 22 left.

Also, any new items that are really nice just disappear overnight. I’m currently hoping for an email to tell me their faux suede jacket and a denim dress I liked are back in stock. Both seemed to be out of stock everywhere two days after they’d arrived. I might be prepared to sit on a wait list for a high end designer, but it’s M&S FGS!

Snorlaxo · 21/02/2025 17:52

Store stock is always poor. I think that they want everyone to order online tbh

Even online availability is often hopeless.

Even on line long stuff is now shorter. I've got old gym leggings and jeans in extra long that are 36 inside leg. They now say their extra long is 34!

Mikejohnpambobemma · 21/02/2025 17:57

I agree I'm a petite size 6 (which my local m and s stopped stocking at all). I rarely even look on their website because it's always out of stock, and spend months waiting for an email when back in stock for simple things like jeans. I've started getting my jeans from next.

Daisydiary · 21/02/2025 18:00

Agree re the small sizes. Also, so much vanity sizing!!! Their size 6s these days are like a 10 from 20 years ago. It’s a joke!

Unfortunately I was actually referring to online - nothing ever in stock in my size!

In store, I can forget about anything being in my size. There is a large store near my work (central London) and so I often pop in to buy food and have a quick look at the clothes - but they never have my size.

Where are you all that has loads of size 22? My local M&S seems to have entirely stopped stocking anything over a size 20, not one single item available in an 22 apart from knickers!

Runingoncaffeine · 21/02/2025 18:48

Yep, I feel this way too and I am a size 10!!

Holdonforsummer · 21/02/2025 18:50

I wanted to buy some secret support vests on Weds and there were ONLY size 8s and size 20s.

I'm a 6 and you hardly ever see them in store. Frustrating.

Favouritefruits · 21/02/2025 19:06

They need more things in ‘long’ length I can’t find anything in store anymore it’s always online only 🤬

isthesolution · 21/02/2025 19:18

And also size 8 is big in M+S. could we have a 6 please?!

AzurePanda · 21/02/2025 19:21

Their sizes are enormous and agree that all the smaller sizes are instantly sold out.

StarlightLady · 21/02/2025 19:24

l don’t know if this is true or not, but a shop assistant in M&S told me they get the exact same number of items in each size. It sound bloody daft to me if this is the case, but it could account for the fact there are often tiny sizes and 20+ left over.

MidnightPatrol · 21/02/2025 19:35

I think they have no idea what will sell well and do small runs of stuff too.

As so often things sell out within a day or two as well.

Hemlocked · 21/02/2025 19:38

I'm a 6 and I don't even bother looking as they so rarely have anything in my size.

SunblockSue · 21/02/2025 19:41

Agree re long length. I went to a store today and there not not one pair of jeans in any style or size that was long. Madness!

NameChanges123 · 21/02/2025 19:43

Yep, I just had this in M&S - and most other shops. JUST ORDER MORE SMALL SIZES IN!!!!

Well, that is crazy.

I was going to start a thread about this the other day when I was having a rage. M&S online stock control seems to have reached a new low. I'm a 6 and EVERY SINGLE THING I've been interested in recently has been out of stock in a 6 online as well as my two closest stores, and often the 8s and 10s are out of stock too. I set up email alerts, but nada... I've given up tbh.
Next is also pretty bad at the moment.

thepurplepenguin · 21/02/2025 20:33

Oh and I'm a 6 long in their jeans. Absolutely no chance...
